The proposed project calls for the construction of 100 units of housing for seniors. The proposed building will be approximately 75,000 square feet in two and one half stories. Site development will include an entry drive, parking for 30-40 cars, a service drive, patios, walkways, landscaped sitting areas, a small gazebo, and significant planting improvements. The site is approximately 8 acres in size, in a triangular shape. It is bordered by Chickering Road (Stae Highway # 125) on the east, residential development to the north and west, and a McDonald's Restaurant to the south. The existing development on the site includes a 45 room hotel with significant banquet facilities and an outdoor pool. All of the structures will be demolished for construction of the new building. Traffic generated from the project will be significantly decreased. Explanation and Source: Yes. Automobile traffic to the site will decrease and therefore decrease auto exhaust fumes in the vicinity of the site. Construction dust could also be generated. (include any source of noise during construction or operation, e.g., engine exhaust, pile driving, traffic.) Explanation and Source: Construction noise will be typical to the industry for earth-moving and construction equipment. After completion the site will not generate any applicable degree of noise. Senior Housing, 139 Main Street, Cambridge MA 02142 — The undersigned is submitting an Environmental Notification Form ("ENF") to the Secretary of Environmental Affairs on or before December 15, 1993 • (fete► This will initiate review of the above project pursuant to the M""chuserts Environmental Policy Act ("MEPA", G.L. c.30, secs. 61, 62-62H).
