Dear Mr.Rice:
Staff of the Massachusetts Historical Commission has reviewed the information you submitted,received
February 15,2001,concerning the proposed project referenced above. After a review of the information
submitted,MHC staff has the following comments.
The MHC understands that the proposed project involves the construction of a new North Andover high
school and the demolition of the 1978 high school.
The MHC staff has determined that the proposed project is unlikely to affect significant historic or
archeological resources. No further review by this office is required.
These comments are offered to assist in compliance with M.G.L.Chapter 9, Section 26-27c,as amended by
Chapter 254 of the Acts of 1988(950 CMR 71.00). Please do not hesitate to contact me at this office if you

After reviewing the information contained in the PNF, the North Andover Historical
Commission concurs with your conclusion that the 1972 North Andover High School
building is not an historic structure; therefore, the Commission has no objection to the
demolition of said building.
