However , the manganese , and particularly the iron
concentration , exceed the recommended standards .
Althoug iron and manganese are not harmful to your
health, they can affect the taste , color and odor
of your water : Iron and manganese are frequently
found at elevated levels in new wells ; however , it
is likely that the concentrations will decrease
when the well is put into regular use .
