Re: Marco Industiies
Dated August 31 , 1987 °
On August 28, I reviewed the plans submitted by Richard
Kaminski Associates dated 9/18/86 regarding Marco Industries .
First of all, for your general information, this building is
now on Holt Road Extension not Clark Street; as the street name
was changed approximately two years ago by the Board of Selectmen.
It is my understanding in talking with Mr. Jerry Foley, from
Kaminski Assoc. , that the additions are to be built in phases .
All additions shall require the installation of an automatic
suppression system (sprinklers) and Mr. Foley informs me that
the owner will sprinkler the existing buildings as well.
An automatic fire detection system will be required in both the
additions and existing buildings to be connected to the munici-
pal fire alarm system through a master fire alarm box.
Plans for both the sprinkler and detection systems must be sub-
mitted to the Fire Chief for approval.
At the commencement of Phase II , the section marked "future
addition" to the west of the section marked "prop. 1 story
addition" an additional fire hydrant will be required to the
northwest corner of that future addition.
Posts are to be placed to protect the hydrant from damage.
In the periods between phases adequate space to provide 360°
access around each new section and existing sections is needed.
In order to provide that access, parking to the westerly end
of the completed phases should not be directly adjacent to the
buildings but removed a distance away to provide a pathway for
emergency vehicles .

If the additions are to be sublet, the owners shall notify
the Fire Department prior to occupancy of the sublessee, with
specific information regarding the type of business and any
plans for any interior work in the addition. This will allow
fire protection systems to be addressed for the addition and
the occupant.
I plan to be at your September 14 meeting.
