Mahoney, Chairman March 14, 1997 Planning Board 146 Main Street North Andover, MA 01845 w Dear Mr. Mahoney: The Division of Public Works has reviewed the proposed plans for the Senior Center Expansion. The plan calls for a 4560 square foot expansion of the building over areas which for the majority are existing impervious areas. In this regard I would anticipate no substantial change in the post development peak rate of runoff from the site The Division of Public Works will work closely with the architect and the Community Development Office to facilitate the necessary connections to the existing drainage in a manner that does not overload the system. k We see no issues which would cause concerns related to the downstream drainage system. I Thank you for the opportunity to comment. Gorman Fax (508) 688-9563 Director March 18, 1997 Mr. Joseph V. Mahoney, Chairman Planning Board 120 Main Street North Andover, MA 01845 Dear Mr. Mahoney: The Senior Center Building Committee was established last summer as a result of developing a building plan for the grant application filed in August of 1996. The Building Committee members consist of Selectman John Leeman, Director of Community Development and Services William J. Scott, Thomas Cantone, Robert Driscoll, Frank Gennarelli, Adele McConaghy, Albert Movsesian and Maria Rosati. As a result, an extensive public process has been achieved toward creating a building plan that meets the needs of the elder community in North Andover now and into the future. The grant awarded to the Town from the State Office of Housing and Community development pays for $583,000 of the project costs. The Council on Aging has currently raised over $42,000 from donations from the community. We are on our way to meeting the needs of the elders of our community without adding to the Town's debt. It is with great pleasure that I represent the Building Committee in offering my strong support for the Senior Center Expansion Project that has received much praise and enthusiasm by the seniors of North Andover. Sincerely, Kathleen B. Gorman Director of Elder Services
