Previous Minutes Approved DATE January 15, 2013 January 22, 2013 2 AGENDA ITEM A Departments to discuss projects- DPW, Facilities and Facilities Master Plan Discussion: BT: DPW Roadway projects are primary priority. Improvements based on need.( list of roads in CIP book pgs 16-26) Currently town receives between 600K and 700K in Chapter 90 the balance paid by local funds Sidewalk Reconstruction: plan is to repair and reconstruct sidewalks in older section of town. Many have deteriorated because of age. Water and High Street Light intersection Plan is to replace existing Town owned lighting on along Water and High streets lights go and off consistently New Front End Loader (230K) to replace 1996 loader which has numerous problems. Brush Cutter (125K) existing brush cutter has broken numerous times costing thousands in repairs. Facilities SF Building Maintenance Consisting of removal of underground storage tank at Franklin School Structural work at DPW on columns bracing also needed. Repairs to roofing, masonry and water intrusion into buildings. We are also looking into IT room AC current cooling system is undersized to handle IT equipment plan is to put new robust system in and put old as back up. Facilities Master Plan AM gave background information on group that put plan together with over 18 months of committee meetings. This is a 10-15 year picture. st 1 phase renovation/replacement of former police station to accommodate school administration building. Kittridge school gym OPM and architect services for new Fire Station. In regards to renovation/replacement of old police station town will know what they are going to be voting on at Town Meeting. Al: Fire station shown on FMP is at High School is that concrete?? AM two sites proposed High School and near airport. Will need to pick a site before Town Meeting. Selectmen will decide where new site will be. 3 AGENDA ITEM B New Business Water and Sewer CIP) Discussion: BT: 2 projects under Sewer 1)School St and Bunkerhill St. sewer replacements 2)Improvements to various Sewer Pump Stations including the Upgrade to station. FEMA will not pay for upgrade excess Funds from other similar projects will be used. 2 projects under the water Enterprise fund 1)Replace Carbon Filter Actuators the units now are obsolete and unable to get replacement parts for them 2)Emergency power upgrades at the Water Treatment Plant This would allow all major pumps to be available during an emergency power outage.
