The PLANNING BOARD held a Special Meeting on Wednesday evening, June 15, 1977 at
7:30 P.M. in the Town Office Meeting Room. ~he following members were present and
voting: Paul R. Lamprey, Chairman; William N. Salemme, Vice-Chairman; Michael P.
Roberts, Clerk; and William Chepulis.
JEFF RIOTTE, Nf~PC liaison person, told the BOARD that all oommmnities will be able to
utilize the expertise of the Commission by using the monies from local assistance.
Richard Gladstone instituted the Program to take effect for FY1978. He presented the
BOARD a memo which outlines the Program: it provides technical assistance to each
comml~ity; entitled to 90 man-hours per year. Discussion ensued regarding requesting of
time, time spent, allocation of hours between town departments. Riotte's expertise
lies in the areas of land use and environmental issues.
GAYTON OSGOOD RE INTERN: intern will work with the MVPC and will take all the perti-
nent up to date reports and identify all the conflicts that exist in these various
documents. The Master Plan doesn't necessarily reflect what is happening today. Will
come back to the BOARD with her, recommendations and would like to meet as the summer
progresses to make sure she is on the~right track. The intern is Joan Cruthers from
Lexing~con who is going for a masters degree in Urban E~fironmental S~udies.
REQUEST FOR BOND RET~&SE: GRE~T POND WOODLAND - letter from Turtle dated 6/3/77.
Letters from Highway and BPW recommending release of ~25,000 and $19,327.78, respectively,
were received. Upon motion by Salemme and second by Chepulis to release $40,000 cover-
ing both departments the vote was unanimous. Balance is $49,077.78 up to station 15+50.
SUBDIVISION CONTROL AGRE~T: GRE~,~OOD WEST - has checked out okay; Ch~mirman to sign.
PRELi~,!INARY PLAN DECISIONS:
a) ~fILDWOOD PARK - Subdivision Control Subcommittee not ready to give a recommendation.
b) WHIPPOORWILL PARK - same as ~bove
PLA~fER: The Chairman stated that there were possibly two qualified candidates from the
selection of applicants. Requepted that all members choose their choice of topcfive for
next meeting. These will be compared and top 3-5 will be interviewed.
%~I. SAL~,~ REPORT - LA~COCHICHEWICK STUDY CO~ITTEE: they are looking for citizen
volunteers; Selectmen are appointing members; John Thompson appointed Chairman; Brian
Sullivan is temporary Secretary. Next meeting scheduled for June 28 and Paul Lamprey
will attend.
