Athletic Field Improvements
Conservation Conditions of Approval,NACC #86
Pursuant to section 4.4.2 J of the North Andover Wetlands Protection Regulations,Christian C.
Huntress,RLA of Huntress Sports,representative,filed for a small project for work proposed at
Merrimack College (soccer field),315 Turnpike Street,North Andover.The work consists of resoding
of the existing field crown and slice seeding of the surrounding natural grass surface. Erosion control
and a new 4' chain link fence will be installed between the field and the forest edge. The fence shall be
installed up-gradient of the 25' No-Disturbance Zone. The proposed sod installation is located more
than 50 feet from Bordering Vegetated Wetland (BVW). All work will be conducted outside of the 25-
foot No Disturbance Zone.
During the July 13,2011 public meeting,the North Andover Conservation Coimnission(NACC)
voted unanimously to approve this project as described above. The following conditions were hereby
mandated for the proposed work:

CONDITIONS:
1. Excess material and construction debris shall be properly disposed of off site. No material
shall be stockpiled within 100' of resource areas.
2. Prior to the start of construction, erosion control shall be installed in accordance with the
approved plan referenced herein and the applicant shall contact the Conservation Department
for a preconstruction meeting at the site.
3. The applicant shall permanently mark the fence with wetland markers spaced every
30 feet incorporating the following text: "Protected Wetland Resource Area' and the
associated rules (1 square for every 3 round). Wetland markers can be purchased from
the Conservation Department($2 round/ $3 square).
4. Upon completion of construction, erosion controls shall be removed and the applicant shall
contact the Conservation Department to schedule a post-construction inspection.
5. The NACC requests that Merrimack College seek a Certificate of Compliance for DEP File
#242-1252 which proposed a turf soccer field at the site.This project was never constructed.
6. This permit shall expire December 31,2011.
