STORAGE OF CHEMICALS
Pool Chemicals shall be stored inside the basement or inside garage to ensure containment of any
spill or drips.
POOL DRAWDOWN
At the time of pool closure for the season or anytime the pool needs to be drained the chlorine
shall be reduced to undetectable levels (<O.1 mg/1). This can be accomplished by utilizing either
of the two (2)methods listed below:
• Prior to discharging the no chlorine shall be added to the pool for approximately ten days
to allow chlorine levels to dissipate.
• Discharge water shall be de-chlorinated utilizing sodium thiosulphate or other approved
pool de-chlorination chemicals approved by DEP for use in watershed areas.
• The de-chlorinated water shall then be discharged over the grassy lawn surfaces or
planting areas prior to entering into the wooded portion of the yard.
POOL OVERFLOWS
To prevent the overtopping of chlorinated pool water during a 100-year storm event, whenever a
severe storm event is predicted the pool level shall be drained to a level to permit the collection
of 7-inches of rain.
