RE: Description of Variance Request
Dear Ladies and Gentlemen of the Board,
Thank you for taking the time to review our request for a zoning variance, pursuant to our
Town's Bylaws, Sections 7.3 and 7.32.
As life-long residents of this community, we respectfully request a variance to raze our existing
one-car garage and attached breezeway and erect a new two-car garage with an attached
breezeway.
Our hardship is based primarily on lot size, Due to the shape of the lot, at the time the original
house was constructed, the house was oriented to follow the shape tavern road, the paper
street, and not Faulkner road, the actual existing street frontage. This lot shape and existing
building orientation creates limited access to the site from Faulkner road. The proposal seeks to
provide additional needed parking for the site and will make the neighborhood more cohesive
and cleaner in appearance.
We've already completed extensive improvements on the home and this is the final phase of
our proposed renovations.
