Minutes of the Conservation Commission Meeting- DEC. 1-41972

Members Present: Messrs Resca, LaFond, Lewis ,Chepuli8
Mrs Trombly and Mrs Kittredge.
Members Absent. Mr Frank :Cord en.
Minutes of the last meeting.Nov. 15, read and accepted.
Old Business.
Mxs Kittredge reported on the ad hoe committee on
Lake Cochicowick
The Board of Health would like to change the distance
that one can build or put a septic system from one hundred
feet to 300 feet. A member of the adhoc aommittee Is look-
ing into this to see how much land this would affect.
There was a lengthy discussion of the oxigen depletion
that is occurring in the lake and what effect the increase
of polution from tributaries and other causes would have.
Vince Turano has students from Merrimack College running
tests on the lake. should be
Bill Chepulis wondered where the measurement
taken. Should it be from the leaching field or the septic
tank it self that the measurement Is taked
Mr. Chepulis moved to accept Mrs Kittredges verbal
report.

Hatch -Jones Act, a Hearing should be sceduled within 21
days of the receipt of the notice of intent. As this would.
conflict with Christmas and New Year, Mr Batal was contacted
and asked whether he would send a letter requesting a delqy

Mrs Kittredge was asked to write a letter to the Lawrence
Eagle Tribuneasking them to publish a legal notice on Jan,
4th to say that the hearihg will be on Jan. 10.
New BusinessjR. Chepulis brought in some plans of a proposed
developement , Salem Gardens. He said there were wet-lands
within the developement including a brook and a pond. It was
decided that a letter should be sent to Hr Chester Sullivan
inclosing a copy of the Act and a copy of the letter be
sent to the planning board by Jan. 8,1 73 as they were having
a hearing Another set of plans were checked but there was
no wet land involved
