The meeting ~ called to order by the Chairman at 8:20 .P.M.
This meeting was a Public Hearing.
Member~ present~ Richard G. Whipple~ Chairmen, Gregory Mooradkanian~
Edwin Reinhold, Nicholas Nicetta and Lyman H. Kilton, Jr.
An application was received, from Kastant JTand John B, Shay requesting-
an amendmen~ of the Zoning ~y-Laws of the own of North Andover~to change
the classification of a parcel ef property owned by them from a ~anersl
Residential to a Business District. Said property is located on the
easterly side of Win%hrop Street (Law~ence)
Both Mr. Kastant .and Mr. John P, Shay were present and expl~1ued to the
Board that they had built houses on the best part of the property b~t that
the remainder of this property was not good for building homes and that they
hoped that some business would be established there. At the present time
they had been approached by a person who wished to buil~ a storage place
for the wholesale se~ling of Woolen materials. There is nothing definite
.at the present time as to just what will be built on this property if and
when it is re-zoned. Mr. Shay · xplained that they were aski~ for re-zoning
of only a part of the property owned by them because they ~'ished to reserve
land in the rear of lots facing Waverley Read for the protection of the people
who already owned homes there and for fuZure buyers. There was also a possibility
of there being a nursery established there.
