The meeting was ealled to order by °the Secretary,in the absence of the Ohairmane
at 7 ~30 P.M. ia the Town Building. This was a Public Hearing.. This Hearing was ad-
vertised in the Evenin~ Tribune en ~eFt. 25'a~d Oct. 3, ~3.
Me~bers Present~ Nicholas Nicetta, Seeretary~ Frank G. D~scoll. Jr.,
Heward ~il~an and Frank Lee the nsw~ appointed member.
An application was received from Ralpn B. Brasseur~ for M.T. Stevens & Sen~,
requesti~ the approval of the ~oard ef the layout plan of Harkaway Read, for
a distance ef Apprex~w~te~y 500 feet easterl~ from Osgood S~reete ~ ~d.
and $~e a~ea cn both sides is owned at the present by M-T. Stevens & Sons and
they wish to divide this preper~y into individual lots se that the existing
homes ~ay Be sold suparate~v*
Mr. Braaseur was present and representing the M.T. Stevens & Sons Co. He ~tated
that the Stevens' wished te dispose ef th~.~ property and w~uld offer the individual
occupants of the existing homes ~he chance te b~y the houses in ~hich they n~w
live. Hewever~ since Harkaway Road was a private way'this matter of subdividing
into individual lots had te be approved by the Planning Board. Mr. Brasseur stated
that Harkawa~ Read was in good condition and that there was water and sewer en this
m~ree%. He also 'stated that there were a few lets that could not meet the requirements
of the Z~ning Law as to side yards but that these lots would be brought in to the
Beard of Appeals for their appreval.' Mr. Rrasueu~ told the Boar~ that there would be
an easement given for the sewer and that this ~uld be delivered ~e Mr. Duffy of the
Boa~d ef Public Workse He also stated that he would certify as to the street bounds
being set. The easement would b · given to oover the ~wer outlet nearest ~e Osgoed
Street connecting with the East side trur~ sewer. When questioned as te whether er
net there had been trouble with tree ~co%s in the sewer~ Mr. Brasseur stated that
they had had ne trouble of this ~d on this street.
Motion wa~ the~ made a~ seconded and it was voted te th aS this -~tter be taken
under advisement.
The Board then went into e~ecutive 'session to discuss this ~pplicatione It was
Brought out in the discussion that soma ~f the men, ers had t~l~ed with Mr. Duff~
regarding the ~ree re~te interferi_~ with the sewer and Mr. Dully had stated that
there had me trouble ef this kind on this street. After further Aisoussions the
B~ard felt that they could approve ~s plan tentativel~ and held the pla~
signatures until the req,,~ements were mete
M~tion .~._~ made and seconded a~ all ~e~bers present voted te approve the plan
ef the la,out ef Harka~a~ Road tentatively wit~-h the fellewing conditions.:
1-That an easement be given te the Board of Public Works ~e ~ever the sewer ~utlet
nearest Oag~ed Street connecting with the East side trunk sew?r.
2-That street bo,~_~_$ be set in accerdenee with the plans as submitted te the Board.
3-That the ~ approval be givenand the pla~s be signed ,on~ ~hen these senditions
b~ been met to the ~atisfaction of the Board. The plans te be held in %__~e_ office
ef t_~e_ Plauning Board until that time. Report to .be sent t~ the Town Clerk and te
the applicant.
