HomeMy WebLinkAbout1955-12-22138 December 2~, 1955 The meeting was called to order at 8:15 P. M. by the Chairman. Members present were: Mr. Nicetta, Mr. Gilman, Mr. Barman and Mr. Finck. A public hearing was held on the petition of Arthur P. Colgate who requests an approval of Definitive Plan in the vicinity of Chadwick and Osgood Streets. Six abbutors appeared also. An abbutor, George D. Moody said there was a fifty foot lot on Furbur Avenue vacant, and Mr. Finck replied that there was no detrimenta2 feature to be extended leaving it as it is. Alice Can~m, abbutor, thinks this development shoLuld have sewarage instead of septic t~nks. Benjamin Kalinow~ki an abbutor also objects to developments. The plans and complete easement were also shown to the abbutors by Mr. Finck. Mr. Bannan mede a motion to take the matter under advisement. Mr. Finck seconded this motion. A second public hearing' was held On the petition of Roy R. Farr,petitioner, for a subdi~sion of land on and off Chickering Road, Woodland area. With Mr. Farr appeared his engineer Mr. Kitson, Attorney Lynch and George Schruender. There was some question that the streets do~ not come in requirement with the regulations of the Highway Department. The Board was told by the petitioner that the street line is twauty feet and the curb line is forty-five foot. Mr. Chairman called Mr. Brasseur, who was hired by the Highway department for the property in' question and Mr. Brasseur said it was less than a 100 foot radius. .Mr. Kitson, engineer of the project than had a discussion with Mr. Brasseur and explained that islands could be put in to correct the situation. Mr, Nicetta question the drainage system, and Mr. Kitson showed on the map it wottld run into a brook which passes the Rennie property and is four or five feet deep. The Board quest&oned the petitioner if there was a~ excess of water wmfld they agree to repair it. Petitioner replied he would. Mr. Lynch, Attorney pointed out it he didntt he would be held civill~ Mr. Bannan made a motion to accept it to the modification of the Planning Board. Mr. Finck Seconded this motion. Mr. Nicetta stated he is oppesed to signing the petition at the present until such time that the Planning Board finds where al~ the water is going without any liability to the Town. Mr. Chairman then asked the Board if they were going to stipulate the conditions. Board replied no. Motion was made and accepted to accept the plans on the conditions proposed set by the Planning Boar~. All members were in favor. Mr. Nicetta opposed. A petition from William B. Kent was read, but the Board felt it he could app~ear, at a specific date he cottld show exactly what area he wishes to be zoned. Mr. ~ said he wottld contact Mr. Kent and ask him to appear at our next meeting which is December 29. Mr. Chapin's petition was approved by the Board. Mr.'Finck wrote an approval on the Sutton Hill Road petition on the condition that the roads on Sutton Hill~will be constructed in
