The meeting was called to order at 7:30 P~. The memoers present were:
~icholas ~'. Nicetta, Ghairman, John G. Osgood, Secretary, James ~.
~annan, Bo~ar~ L. Gilman and nobert J. BurKe.
Mr. Osgood read the notice of the hearingfor Arthur B. Colgate of the
Colgate Co~struction Company requesting approval 9s.~ suO~ivisi~n~.~er
the requi~ments of the Subdivision Control Law an~ zne ~u±es an~ ~u-
lations gove£ning the subdivision o~' land of the PlanninE Board in the
Town of~orth andover. The location of the land is an extension of
Woodstock Street between ~assachusetts Avenue and Linden Avenue.
Mr. ~alph Brasseu~ explained the plans presented to the Board and dis-
cussed the size of pipes, s~ying that mhe thought 8" pipes ~ould
better than 6" They also discusse~se~er connections.
~r. Sam. ~icolo~.i, 46 ~oodStocK Street, was present but not in opposition
merely to question the sewerage, size of pipes etc.
· here was no opposition to this application.
~r. Dannan made a motion to take this matter undez advisement, seconded
b~ ~. Gilman and voted unanimously.
~r. GampOell, ~eal ~state ~onsultan~ for ~he ~assach~setta ~iile Associ-
ation was present with Hr. ~c~ugh, Ohairman of the ~ass. aifle Assoc. in
order to get information from the ~oara regarding a larg~ tract of land
owaed by ~.W.msty, which contains approx. 47~ acss and borders on land
owned by the State and on Liberty Street nest the ~iddleton line. The~
explained that at present the Association is located in Woburn~ but due
to the new highways and s~ttlements, it is necessary for them to re-lo-
cate and thought that this tract of land would be an ideal location.
There are no houses ~ithin ~ mile of this property. They would have a
resident manager there at all times, since this is a 12 months oroposition
~nd would have an indoor and outdoor range. This is a no~-profit
organization and was incorporated in 1875 and they carry ~300,000 in-
surance. There would be no liquor allowed on the club and all safety
measures would be met 'O~ building cement barriers and barricades and
Pack stops, khey showed preliminary plans of the club rooms and in, ocr
range and a topograph~ map of the area. They have already consulted the
Ghiei of Police, who is in accord with their plans. They tal~ed ~ith
~Lr. Olackwell on the phone for more iniormation and to see if it would
be permissable under the present by-Laws.
~r. ~ioetma talked ~lth ~. Black~ell on the phono and it was decided
that ~he ~oard ~ottld mee~ with him on ~ednesday evening, ~ovember ,20,
regardzng the road map and building code.
Mr. Orasseur then showeG plans i'rom Otafford's, Inc. for a motel on
the ,esterl~ szde of ~hicKeXng noad, located between the noston and
~ain nailroad crossing and Prescott Street. ~he Board said that the~

would wan~ more aetails on the construction of the buildings, fire-
walls , etc.
letter will be sent to Atty. ~radle~ to ask the basis of ~he appeal
on thc ~ile~ti motel now before the Court.
A letter will be s~nt to the ~epartment Of Commerce to send copies of
law amendments to the individual Board 'members.
