Handbook The final draft of the Handbook was reviewed by the council. The layout was finalized. Diane Carney will send the handbook to the publisher before the December 1 meeting. Parent Representative Election There will be two open parent representative positions for the January 1995 School Council Term. A letter describing the position was discussed. It will be sent out tc the Kittredge Community the week of November 21, requesting returns by the week of November 28. An e~ec~Lons will follow. The process should be completed by mid-December. School Improvement Plan 1994-1993 The SIP listing was reviewed. A building initiative for "providing a challenging and stimulating learning environment for all children" was discussed including specific activities in library/research, technology, and "challenge club". Based on the initiatives and activities discussed a formal SIP draft will be deve!cped before the next schoe! council meeting. New Business A letter from George Blaisdell was read. There will be a hearing regarding Performance Standards for Teachers on Tuesday, November 22,1994 at 7:30PM. All school council members are encouraged to attend. A thank you letter from Joe Malone, State Treasurer, regarding bls recent visit at Kittredge School for the "Saving Makes Cents" program was read. The past Award and Award Asse~biy program for Good Citizen, Student of the Month, etc. will be ~iscontinued. A bulletin board on the theme "Look Who Got Caught Being SOOD!" will be introduced to provide greater recognition of ~-=~' c .... ~ .... s accomplishments. Budget. The proposed operating budget for 1995-1996 was reviewed by line item. The maintenance budget and technology budget were also discussed. Next Meeting The next school council meeting is scheduled for Thursday, December 1, 1994, 7:00PM, Kittredge School. The agenda will primarily be to complete the development of %he School Improvement Plan 1994-1995.
