Special Meeting
The Planning Board held a special meeting on Monday evening, February 19, 1962
at 7:30 P.M. in the Town Building. The following members were present and voting:
James M. Barman, Chairman; Robert J. Burke, Secret~ry; ~eorge Farley and ~illiam
Chepulis.
Chairman Bennan stated that according to Town Counsel, signatures on re-zoning
petitions are not necessary if it is to be an article in the Warrant.
Mr. Burke read a letter from Atty. Joseph Bacigalupo requesting a hearing for
re-zoning for Theodore I. FreiJe, 56 D~rso Ave., for a parcel of land on Osgoed St.,
to change frcm Lndustrial to General Business. The article is &lready in the
Mr. Farley made a motion to set the hearing date for ~sday, March 15, 1962 at
6:30 P.M. Mr. Chepalis seconded the motion and the vote was unanimous.
The Board discussed the new requirements for street acceptance as listed in a
letter frc~ Atty. Salisbury. Mr. Barman then went to the Selec*.m~ls meeting to
discuss it with them and said that the Selectmen will follow whatever rec~endations
the Planning Board makes.
Mr. BurMe m~_e the foll,~Ing motion: to accept the follv,~ng streets:
1. Davis S~reet Extension
2. Fouata~ Drive
3. Car~y Circle
4. ~oodstock Road from Mass. Ave. to ~oedland S~.
and that Morris Street could not be accepted because it does not comply with the re-
quirements of the SuB-Division Control Law.
Mr. Farley seconded the motion and the vote was unanimous. A letter will be sent to
the Board of Selectmen informing them of the above.
Mr. Chepulis talked about the article in the warrant sponsored by the Conservation
Commission to purchase la~d (3.6 acres) by Lake Cochichewick, where the water shed i~.
He thinks that the Planning Board should go on record as being in favor of such a~
article. The Board will discuss this i~mrther at their next meeting.
