The School Improvement Plan Kathy Flanagan Barbara Grasso Laurie ~ottler The council drafted building initiatives and specific activities for the school improv~-ent plan in the areas of discipline, c~.~cmication, curricula and inclusion. The school imp~t plan is due March, 25, 1994. The school c~t,,.~ttee presentation is scheduled for April 5, 1994. The develo~%~nt of the school improxna~ent plan initiated a discussion of Discipline Behavior Management Plan develo~uent, philosophy and issues. FollOW Up A. The council will collect handbooks frcm other schools as examples for Kittredge. Diane Carney will mention the search for handbooks at the March 3 PTO meeting. B. Bette Ann Coyle will refine the school improv~uent pl_~n drafted at this ~ccting. C. Kathy Blain will draft a section of the cover letter to accompany the school improvement plan. D. Laurie Rottler and Kathy Flanagan are planning an organizational meeting for the develolm~t of a Discipline Plan. ~his meeting is open to all Kittredge staff and is scheduled for Wednesday, March 9, at 3:30. E. Winnie Bowersox, Diane Carney and Barbara Grasso will revie~ t~a results of the school council survey in order to prioritize the results and compare these results with ~the drafted school improvement plan ensuring reflection and ccm- pleteness. III. Other Business A. Three school council m~nbers~ Bette Ann Coyle, chair, Winnie Bowersox, co-chair and Kathy Blain, c~.¥~nity rep- will participate in a M~.~sachusetts state meet- ing regarding school councils B. The process writing parent workshop with consultant Mary Ellen Giacobbe is scheduled for March 16, 1994. The next meeting of the school council is scheduled for Monday, March ~, at 7:30 P.M. at Kittredge School. ~he agenda is to review the refined draft of the school in~rov~uent p~sn and work toward finalization of the plan.
