Regular Meet~-~
The Planning Board held their regular mest~-~ on ~day evening, J~-,ry 6, 196~
at 7:30 P.M. in. the Town Bu~_l&~8 with the following ~emhers present: ja~es 1~
Bannan, Chair~*~; Robert J. Burke, Seeretary; ~km~rd Gilman and G~orge B. Farley.
Pictures were taken of the Flanning Board for the annual To~n Report.
Atty. Charles Trembly was present to file a petition with the l~_*~-~-g B~ard
to re- _~_~e two parcels of land on Turnpike Street,. from rural residential to general
business. One pareel is pre~sently the Ski Tow, which is be~-~ conducted as a non-
confo.-=:~ use upon permission of the Board of Appeals. The other pareel is across
the street and it is contemplated that a~ 18-hole, 3-par golf course ~ be put
there if the land is re-zoned. A~ of the land is owned by John C. Farmm.
There -~as a question as to whether ~r not both paree~ of land could he suBaltted
~ne article. Atty. Trombly said he would spe~ to Town Counsel Salisbury about
The Board voted to hold a hearing on the above on ~anday evening, February 17, 1964
at 7:30 P.~.
John ~cLay ~s present to inquire as to when the Bearing ~ 'be held ~ his
petition for re-zoning. The hearing will be held on M~mday eve-4-~, February 17,
1~ at 8:00 P.~.
The Board discussed about re-zoning articles that specify what type of business
they ~ant to be re-zoned for. They stated they have no '~y of con~ to he
sure that the type of basiness goes in as speeified, after re-zoning. As it is
now, the petitioners can say one th~,~ and after it is re-sc~d, do as they please
with the ~_*~. They ~ there should Be sc~e e~ntrol, .but a sa~i~faetor~
method has yet to be applied.
