The Board of Appeals held a regular meeting on Tuesday evening,May 9, 2000 at 7:30 PM upon the
application of LWM Development Co.,d/b/a 140 East Haverhill St.,Lawrence,MA for premises at: 492
Sutton St.,Holt Road-Taxiway"E",Lawrence Municipal Airport. Petitioner is requesting a
Variance from the requirements of Section 8.1,Off-Street Parking,and Paragraph 5&6 in order to allow for
parking spaces for 20 vehicles within the I-2 Zoning District.
The following members were present:,Walter F. Soule,Raymond Vivenzio,Robert Ford, Ellen McIntyre.
Upon a motion made by Robert Ford and Vd by Ellen McIntyre,the Board voted to make a FINDING and
GRANT a variance from the requirements of Section 8.1 Paragraph 5&6 to allow for 20 parking spaces as
sufficient for vehicle parking only on the condition that 20 parking spaces are sufficient for the particular
use of these premises and on the condition that the parking is laid out as shown in accordance with the Plan
of Land by: James E.McLaughlin,P.L.D.,#39256,dated 4/28/2000, Survey Information BVD#4.
Voting in favor: Walter F.Soule,Raymond Vivenzio,Robert Ford,Ellen McIntyre. The Zoning Board of
Appeals shall have power upon appeal to grant variances from the terms of this Zoning Bylaw where the Board finds
that owning to circumstances relating to soil conditions,shape,or topography of the land or structure and especially
affecting such land or structures but not affecting generally the zoning district in general,a literal enforcement of the
provisions of this Bylaw will involve substantial hardship financial or otherwise,to the petitioner or applicant,and that
desirable relief may be granted without substantial detriment to the public good and without nullifying or substantially
derogating from the intent or purpose of this Bylaw.
Furthermore,if the rights authorized by the variance are not exercised within one(1)year ofthe date ofthe grant,they shall lapse,and
may be re-established only after notice,and a new hearing. Fufthecmore,if a Special Permit granted under the provisions contained
herein shall be deemed to have lapsed after a two(2)year period from the date on which the Special Permit was granted unless
substantial use or construction has cemmeaced,they shall lapse and may bele-established only after notice,and a new hearing.

The principal points upon which I base my application are as follows: (must be stated in detail)
Premises may be accessed only by aircraft owners. Because of security,
requirements at the airport, and thefactthat the sublot is approximately
1,500 feet from the external airport boundary, the airport commission does
not allow provisions for public parking spaces. Only aircraft owners will
park vehicles on the site and will park inside individual airplane hangars.
Guests of aircraft owners in separate vehicles must park at public lot at
airport terminal building.

5. If the Building Inspector is unable to identify a use with one (1) or more of
