HomeMy WebLinkAbout1964-04-06Monday - April 6, 1964 Regular Meeting The Planni~ Board held their regular meeting o~ Monday evening, April 6, 1964 at 7:30 P.M. in the Town Building. The:£ollow~_,~ members were present and voting: ~-,~s M. Ba~an, Chairman; Howard Gilman, George Farley and W~liam Chepulis. Robert J. Burke was unable to attend. The members present decided to wait ~mtil there is a f~l~ board present before election of officers for the year takes place. The members present designated Ch-~rm~n Jam~_s M. B--~en as delegate to the Central Merrimack Valley Planning District. MAC-KAY CONST. CO. = Mr. Farley read a letter from George Hayes, engineer for the HaoXay Oonst. Co. sub-division. He requests an extension of 60 days in order to complete the Profiles and percolation tests. Mr. 6~n ,~de a motion to grant the 60 days extension. ~r. Farley seconded the motion and the vote was unanimous. A letter will be sent to the Board of ~ealth inform~ them. of our action TOWN COUNSEL: Mr. Farley read a letter from Town Counsel Salisbury, in answer to our letter. We asked ~ if it was possible to me_We an amendment to the Zon~ By-Laws designating certain types of~ restrictive business without definitely locating any area. Town Counsel's answer is in the affirmative. Ne states eThere is a recent local precedent for such a project: see Article 65A of the Warrant for the 1961 A~aual Town Meeting (which was not adopted by the Town)." ~-ZONING PLANS: The mem_~ers signed the plans for the re-z~-*.8 articles that were approved at T~n Meeting. They were for John M~Lay on Turnpike Street and ~ohn Farnum on both sides of Turnpike Street, for a contemplated golf course and Boston Ski Hill area. The p~ans will not be given out unttl the approval of the Attorney General is received. OFFICE HOURS ~ The Board discuss~ed and agreed on setting par~-t~ office hours. The clerk now does the necessary work for the pl~ Board, the Board of Appeals ~-~ the Building Inspector. Under this new plan, the office for all three will be open on three half- days each week and available to the public. The tentative plan is for Monday after- noons, Wednesday mornings and Friday afternoons. The Board signed the following bills: N.E. Tel. & Tel. ¢o.
