Regular ~eeting
The PLANNING BOAF~ held their regular meeting on Monday evening, April 5, 1965
at 7:30 P.M. in the Town Building. The following members ~ere present and voting:
J~w~s M. Barman, Chairman; Robert J. Burke, Secretary; Hovard G~l~a~ George B.
Farley and William Chepulis.
Mr. Paul Charland, 4 Rock~ood Lane, Lawrence appeared before the Board with a
letter he had received from the Board of Public Works regarding Gresvenor Avenue.
A lengthy discussion was held regarding how to go about finishing off the streets
to be accepted, etc. The Board informed Mr. Cb~land that they wou~d contact
Town Counsel and then send a copy of the letter to ~m,
NOMINATION OF OFFICERS: fo~ Ch~trma,
Mr. Chepulis nominated Mr. Farley/but Mr. Farley said he would not be interested
and refused the n~mination.
Mr. Farley nominated Mr. Barman for Chairman, Mr. O-~'~w~n seconded the motion amd
the vote was unanimous. Mr. Re~an was elected Chai~;a~n.
Mr. Burke n~,tuated Mr. Farley for Secretary, but Mr. Farley again refused. Mr.
Burke then no-tnated Mr. Chepul~s for Secretary, Mr. Farley seconded the motion
and the vote was u~s~t~ous. Mr. Chepulis was elected Secretary.
Mr. Farley made a motion to ~o,~,~te Mr. Chepulis as vice-chairman, Mr. Burke
seconded the motion and the vote was unan~nous. Mr. Chepulis was also elected
vice-ch~ rma~.
Mr. Gtl~-_~ made a motion to no-~-~te Mr. Barman as delegate to the Central Merrick
Valley Planning Commission, Mr. Burke seconded the motion and the vote was u~s~fmous.
Mr. Gilman made a motion to nominate Mr. Chepulis as alternate delegate to the
Central Mer~=ck Valley Planning Co~m~_ssion, Mr. Farley seconded the motion and the
vote Was
CAPITAL OUT-LAY COMMITTEE~
Mr. Barman explained to the other members that a letter had been received from the
Selectmen asking for a delegate from the P~g Board to the Capital Out-Lay
Committee. The appointment had to be made within the week and could not wait for
the next Planning Board meeting so Mr. Banna~ said he would represent the Pla~-~n8
Board.
Z,O~ING MAPS
The Board discussed the newly received prints of the zoning maps. The Board
decided that they would charge 50~ a copy - free copies will be distribued to all
town departments and agencies. A letter will he sent to Torn Clerk John Lyons
authorizt-~ ~- to sell copies of the Zoning maps at 50~ each.
