Regular Meeting
The PLANNING BOARD held their regUlar meeting on Monday evening, July 7, 1969
at 7:30 P.M. in the Town Office Building with the following members present and
voting: William Chepulis, Jr., Chairman; Robert J. Burke, Charles W. Trombly, Jr.
and Donald Keirstead.
FLYNN SUBDIVISIONPLANS:
Definitive plans have been submitted to the Board by Joseph& Pauline Flynn.
The Board noted that these plans are still not complete and do not show contours
as previously requested; also more information is needed to show the surrounding
area.
Mr. Keirstead made a motion to delay setting a hearing date until more complete
plans are submitted. Mr. Burke seconded the motion and the vote was unanimous.
Mrs. Flynnwas present and said she thoughtv~he had seen plans showing contours
and could not understand why they were not submitted. She will see that maps are
submitted properly and have a hearing date set.
"RECONNAISSANCE REPORT":
Mr. Chepulis said now that the "Reconnaissance Report" is completed by the
Dept. of Community Affairs a group discussion should be held with the various
Boards and departments involved and the D.C.A. Mr. Keirstead also suggested
starting to interview planning consultants.
A tentative meeting date of July 28th w-ill be set for meeting with the D.C.A.,
the Selectmen, the Advisory Committee and the Planning Board.
BEN OSGOOD SUBDIVISIONS:
Ben Osgood was present and said he wants to put a bond on Raleigh Tavern S.
for llOO feet from Farnum Street. He intends to redraw the plan showing drainage
changes. He thinks $20,O00would be all right and will submit an estimate. He
wants to release 9 lots and put up a bond. The Board will ask the Highway Surveyor
for his estimate.
Mr. Osgood then discussed with the Board his option on approx. 537 acres of land
in the Salem and Winter Street area. This is part of the previous Campanelli
project. He want to develop the area in what would be a planned unit development
which is a new concept of zoning. It would have its own school area~ small resi-
dential shopping district, common, recreation area, etc. He would build a sewarage
treatment plant and the town would control it. It would take about l0 years to
develop.
The meeting adjourned at lO:O0 P.M.
