Prepare joints for brazing by one of, or a combination of following methods. - Paint joints with brazing compond LTB-37 of LTB-38. - - Insert#718 brazing sheet between joints to be brazed (.003" - .005" thick). -Apply stop-off Compond as where required. 3. Place parts in the pre-heat oven at 1000-10151 for 15 -30 minutes depending on the size of the parts. 4. Remove parts from the pre-heat oven and dip immediately in the salt bath with temperature at 1095-1105°F for one to three minutes depending on size of parts. 5. Remove parts from salt bath ad air cool for approximately 15 minutes. Post Brazing Cleaning: 1. Rinse in cold wgter for 30 minutes. 2. Spray parts with hot water. 3. Rinse in brite dip (40% hydrofluoric and 60% nitric mix.) 4. Cold water Rinse. 5. Remove salts by placing parts in a tank of boiling water for approximately 2-3 hours. Section 9.2 states that"A use or structure housing a use,which does not conform to the regulations of this Bylaw, but which did conform to all applicable regulations when initially established, shall not be changed, extended or enlarged except in accordance with the following provisions: 1. Such change shall be approved by a special permit or otherwise by the ZBA; 2. Such change shall be permitted only upon the same lot occupied by the nonconforming use on the date that it became nonconforming; 3. Any increase in volume, area or extent of the nonconforming use shall not exceed an aggregate of more than 25% of the original use; 4. No change shall be permitted which tends to lengthen the economic life of the nonconforming longer than a period reasonable for the amortization of the initial investment. The ZBA granted this nonconforming extension special permit at their meeting of 4/12/05 with the stipulation `the applicant obtain a variance for the preexisting deficient side setback on the existing building prior to receiving a certificate of occupancy." I do not agree with the assessment of the ZBA requiring the petitioner to also obtain a variance for the setback. To me, it seems clear that in the statement of Section 9.2 which states"A use or structure housing a use,which does not conform to the regulations of this bylaw but which did conform to all applicable regulations when initially established...shall not be changed, extended or enlarged except in accordance with the following provisions...." This section clearly states and acknowledges that the structure did not conform to the regulations of this bylaw, and then proceeds to set forth specific criteria that must be met to allow for the extension of such use. The proposed-10,000 SF addition will be used as-warehousing to-support the primary light manufacturing use of the existing structure. & The existing 43,600 SF structure is 31.33 fl~_from thelot line-on-the south-(right)side of the building. Existing zoning requires a 50 ft set back on the side. The proposed 14,000-SF addition will meet alt setback, coverage ratios; etc outlined in Table 2. C. Microwave Engineering.Corporation(MEC)is a prime contractor for the U.S. Government and manufactures-passive radar components for use in.space-satellite and military aircraft,.ships and.land vehicles. To remain.competitive.and responsive to the hereased-need for our products, in recent years, MEC!has-relied on improving efficiencies rather than adding human and physical resources in.proportion to increased sales. .Our light manufacturing-operation requires the support of warehouse facilities for raw materials and finished-products. Currently we lease warehouse facilities at 1429 - Osgood-St. Our lease on that facility cannot-be renewed after this year,which means that we will have to.obtain new warehouse space. Using a satellite warehouse is�very inefficient-and requires-a-half.dozen trips-perday-by-truck to move materials between the facilities. The requirement..to address our need for new warehouse-space-open s the door to improving the efficiencyof our operations by-adding a warehouse structure to our existing light manufacturing facility.
