Michael,
Two options here, both right in that 5kW area. When we spoke on the phone I was still
working on a layout issue, but I have resolved it. I was mistaken: you can do a 22 panel or
20 panel option, and both will form nice clean rectangles on the roof, so here they are.
Our assumptions remain:
• From the utility information your supplied, you consume approx.
14,423 kilowatt hours of electricity annually, or approx. 1202 kWh on
average per month. You currently pay approx. 13.8 cents per kWh to
National Grid.
• Your asphalt roof is in good condition.
• These prices include complete Turnkey installation, including moving the
vent pipe as needed.
Option A: 5.06kW Photovoltaic system w Enphase inverters.
22 Canadian Solar 230-watt photovoltaic modules, 22 Enphase Micro inverters,
and all necessary balance of system materials (wiring, disconnects, etc.).
Pricing:
The gross price of this systems $33ta1
Less Commonwealth Solar II retate*—$ 5000`
Less anticipated 30%federal tax credit* - $8,433
Less anticipated 15% state tax credit* (not to exceed $1000) - $1,000
Total anticipated cost after rebates and tax incentives: $18,677
Option B: 5.06kW Photovoltaic system w Solectria Inverter.
22 Canadian Solar 230-watt photovoltaic modules, 1 Solectria PV15000 inverter,
and all necessary balance of system materials (wiring, disconnects, etc.).
Pricing:
The gross price of this system is $32,384 installed
Less Commonwealth Solar II rebate* - $5,500
Less anticipated 30%federal tax credit* - $8,065
Less anticipated 15% state tax credit* (not to exceed $1000) - $1,000
Total anticipated cost after rebates and tax incentives: $17,819

• cg Solar'
Option C: 4.6kW Photovoltaic system w Enphase inverters.
20 Canadian Solar 230-watt photovoltaic modules, 20 Enphase Micro inverters,
and all necessary balance of system materials (wiring, disconnects, etc.). r
Pricing: `
The gross price of this system is $30,100 installed
Less Commonwealth Solar II rebate* - $4,600
Less anticipated 30%federal tax credit* - $7,650
Less anticipated 15% state tax credit* (not to exceed $1000) - $1,000
Total anticipated cost after rebates and tax incentives: $16,850
Option D: 4.6kW Photovoltaic system w Solectria Inverter.
20 Canadian Solar 230-watt photovoltaic modules, 1 Solectria PV15000 inverter,
and all necessary balance of system materials (wiring, disconnects, etc.).
Pricing:
The gross price of this system is $29,440 installed
Less Commonwealth Solar II rebate* - $5,060
Less anticipated 30%federal tax credit* - $7,314
Less anticipated 15% state tax credit* (not to exceed $1000) - $1,000
Total anticipated cost after rebates and tax incentives: $16,066
Notes:
If you decide on a conventional inverter (the Solectia option)we will also be able
install our SunWatch Meter free of charge. This monitor allows you to track your
system performance in real time from your computer, and allows us to make sure
that all is workingproperly.
p .p Y
Also, I'm running all the numbers in the rest of this proposal for option D.the
4.6kW system at lowest cost per watt. But all of the options will have very
similar numbers to these.
On-going Revenue: Solar Renewable Energy Credits
New to Massachusetts in 2010, the Department of Energy Resources has
implemented a Solar Credit Market. This program offers an on-going
production incentive for making solar energy, above and beyond electricity
savings. For every megawatt hour(mWh) of electricity produced, system
owners earn one SREC, or Solar Renewable Energy Certificate, which are then
sold to back the electric utilities needing to meet state solar energy mandates.

Because the market is new, the DOER has established parameters for SREC
price and term. In For SRECs generated in 2010, floor of the market is $300
per SREC, and the ceiling is $600. For installations in 2010, there is a 10 year
opt-in term for the Solar Credit Clearinghouse, meaning that they have
established that $300/SREC price for 10 years.
This new Massachusetts incentive has an enormous impact on your system's
investment profile, as seen in your Direct Return on Investment Analysis in the
following pages.
SREC Revenue Profile"
2010 SREC price band: $300 - $600 per SREC
Projected SRECs generated from first year production: 5 SRECs
Year one projected revenue minimum ($300/SREC): $1500
Year one projected revenue moderate ($450/SREC): $2250
Year one projected revenue maximum ($600/SREC): $3000
2010 Solar Credit Clearinghouse opt-in term: 10 years
Projected 10 year SREC generation: 51 SRECs
10 year projected revenue minimum ($300/SREC): $15,000
10 year projected revenue moderate ($450/SREC): $22,000
10 year projected revenue maximum ($600/SREC): $29,000

Solar Savings
This 4.6kW system will produce on average approximately 435 kilowatt hours
per month, depending on time of year (more in the summer months and less
in the winter months). Based on your consumption, this system will allow
you to produce approximately 37% of your electricity yourself.
Electric Bill
This 4.06kW system could allow you to eliminate your home's electric cost.
Solar savings reduce your consumption by 37%, and your remaining electric
cost can be offset by SREC revenue. In fact, in its first year, solar savings plus
SREC revenue at a minimum level ($300/SREC) project to cover over 110%of
your electric bill.
Direct Return on Investment:

Installation Schedule:
The actual installation should take less than a week. However, coordinating with
Commonwealth Solar II rebate program, local building departments, etc. takes time, so we
would schedule system installation for 8-10 weeks from receipt of signed proposal, in
conjunction with Commonwealth Solar rebate application timing.
Terms and conditions:
Upon acceptance of this proposal, installation will be governed by the SunBug Turn-Key
Installation Agreement. Payment terms require $1000 due with signed proposal, one-half
(1/2) of gross price on order of"materials and one-half(1/2) of gross price balance paid
on completion (utility interconnection).
