New brick will be field blended with existing brick removed from the wall to provide as close match of new work to existing as possible. Remove all Four(4)existing Window and all Eight(8)existing Door Steel Lintels. Provide 12 NEW galvanized steel Lintels,one for each opening where brick is removed. Cut&Repoint areas of brickwork as needed that has cracked, and not been repaired,at rear elevation,of all four(4)units. Wash Down masonry at ALL Four Units rear elevation entirely and provide clear penetrating masonry sealer after washing. Provide hoisting,staging,and trash containers as required for our work. Inspect air condition sleeves at 1St floor of all four units and at 2°d floor of two units. Provide flexible membrane flashing around the entire perimeter of the 4 sleeves on the 1 St floor. Include reseating the 4 sleeves at the I"floor unit to pitch away from the units,if possible without requiring work inside the units. One mobilization and continuous sequence of masonry operations is included. Mortar for use will be of natural color,(sand lime and cement)with no pigments in one consistent uniform color and texture. All joint sizes of brickwork to be re-pointed will remain as they are. We will not increase the size of existing joints by v grooving existing masonry. Laydown area for materials,equipment and staging to be provided near the work areas. Power and Water connections required for saws and cleaning are to be provided by Owner at no additional cost to IMECA. All work is to be performed during normal working hours,7:00am-3:30pm,M-F. All work to be performed per OSHA standards. TIME FOR STARTING AND COMPLETION(CONT): Work is scheduled to begin as soon as brick are available and the building permit for the work is received,permit application process to start on Monday,09/13/09. New Brick are currently on order. The Contractor shall provide the Owner with a Start Work Notice,at least three(3)days prior to beginning work on the premises. Once the Contractor begins working on the four units all work covered in this agreement shall be substantially complete within 60 days,excluding delays allowed for in the terms and conditions of the contract.
