Enclosed is our first application for a permit for work to 121 Raleigh Tavern Lane. We
will be the owners of the house at the end of April and have the current owner's
permission to start the process of obtaining a permit. The permit is for a 12'x22' addition
to be used as a garage and converting part of the current garage to a family suite. We are
currently living in Andover and are excited about coming back to North Andover. Until

We wish to construct a porch addition to our residence, and which
majay of the other houaes in our area already have The only logical
location for this porch is the south easterly side of the house,
dui to the floor plan. There is a hardship with the land, since
when the house was originally constructed, it was moved to the
rear and side of the lot, due to non buildable conditions in the
original location. Due to the location of the existing structure ,

Sec. 1 APPLICATION FORM
Every application for action by the Board shall be made on
a form approved by the Board. These forms shall be furnished by the
clerk upon request. Any communication purporting to be an application
shall be treated as mere notice of intention to seek relief until such
time as it :is made on the official application form. All infor.itation
called for by the form shall be furnished by the applicant in the manner
therein prescribed. .

in Interest" which list shall include the petitioner, abutters, owners
of land directly opposite on any public or private street or way and
owners of land within three hundred feet of the property line all as
they appear on -the most recent applicable tax list, notwithstanding that

Dear Sir:
A public hearing was held by the Board of Appeals on June 12, 1978 upon application of
Frank H. & Janice Fernalld who requested a variation of Sec. 6.3 and Table 2 of the
Zoning By—Law so as to permit a side setback variance for construction of porch as
shown on a plan of land dated May, 1978 and located at 121 Raleigh Tavern Lane. The
following members were present and voting: Frank Serio, Jr. , Chairman; Alfred E.
Frizelle Vice—Chairman; R. Louis DiFruscio Clerk; James D. Noble Jr. ; and John J.
Gaffny, III.
The hearing was advertised in the Lawrence Eagle Tribune on May 27 and June 3, 1978
and all abutters were duly notified by regular mail.
The Board found that the location of the dwelling on the lot created a hardship as
evidenced by the previous variance granted. The Board also found that each of the
requirements set forth in Sec. 9.5 of the By—Law had been satisfied and voted unanimously
to GRANT the request upon motion of Mr. Frizelle and second by irT . DiFruscio.
