I am confident that she will pass the inspection for the issuance of the kennel license. I need the inspection for the kennel license to happen ASAP. I am hoping to get her to submit the application early this week and am hoping for the inspection to occur before the end of the week. I would do the inspection myself; as Massachusetts General Law ch. 140 sec. 137A authorizes it; however our town bylaws state the initial inspection is done by the health division animal inspector. The bylaw states that the periodic and renewal inspections can be handled by the animal control officer. I am not entirely sure why the bylaw has it worded this way but it takes precedent over the MGL. If Dr. Lindsay is unavailable to do the inspection within a week or two, maybe we can have something drawn up for him to authorize the animal control officer to perform the inspection.
