In February 1991, Ms. Conboy conducted an inspection at Ben's Canty Kitchen, 127 Waverly Road. At that time, Ms. Conboy noted some problems, one being that he did not have a handwash sink, he only had a two base sink, and he was not sanitizing. At that time, Ms. Conboy and Mr. Beninato agreed that he would contact her before July about repairing surfaces that were not easily cleanable and surfaces covered with electrical tape. In July, Mr. Beninato had a fire at the establishment but just had smoke damage. Ms. Conboy stated that when she went to the establishment in July, a handsink was improperly installed. He did not obtain a plumbing permit and the sink was attached to the counter with electrical tape. Mr. Beninato denied that the sink was taped to the side of the counter and that he was not using a sanitizer. Mr. Beninato clarified that the fire in his establishment was not a fire, it was a smoke problem - a burner was left on and all the water in the pan evaporated. Mr. Beninato stated that he needs to know the extent of the repairs in order to go over it with Mr. Canty because his lease is up and wants to make sure he complies with the State Regulations and yet comply with Mr. Canty because he owns the property. Mr. Beninato requested that the Board give him a grace period of one (1) week in order for him to discuss with Mr. Canty what needs to be done in order to comply with the State Regulations. Ms. Conboy stated that in February she discussed refinishing some surfaces, providing a drying area, and organizing spaces a little better. Mr. Osgood suggested that Ms. Conboy meet with Mr. Beninato and Mr. Canty at the establishment, and tell them what needs to be done in order to comply with the State Requirements. Ms. Conboy will call Mr. Canty in the morning to set up an appointment. Mr. Canty's #688-3018.
