Complaint-sewer leaking .
Action-Health Insp.went to site.Observed water from the private sewer line at 133 pushing up through the pavement as claimed..Director contacted DPW for
details.Tim acknowledged this began 2 weeks ago without any repair to date.Also spoke with 1 of the 4 condo owners.Jeff Roukes-jeff.roukes@avnet.com,978

Wealty Plumbing expected to camera sewer line on 4/13/11 at 10 AM and determine type of repair needed.

Dear Ms.Sawyer,
For the past 2 weeks there has been a sewerage leak at the corner of Pleasant and Davis street.I have been
in contact with Tim Willett from the sewer dept.about this,and he brought it to the attention of the owners of 133 Pleasant St.approx.2 weeks ago.At that time the
owners assured him that they would address the problem.Unfortunately it's still unresolved.The issue from a health and environmental standpoint is that a large
amount of wastewater is pouring from the leak directly into the storm drain. This past weekend with the advent of the warm weather the stench has become
unbearable.Tim Willet mentioned to me this morning that he will log a formal complaint with your dept.,and that I should do the same.I trust that you will look into
this promptly and enforce any health codes that may pertain here.

I have been told by the Town DPW operations manager that the contractor has planne to be at 133 Pleasant Street
tomorrow morning and have confirmed it with one of the owners. I am holding the Ord Letter until tomorrow.
Hopefully it will be fixed permanently and we will not have to resort to the notification.

Unfortunately this issue hasn't been resolved.With the warm weather here
the stench from this sewerage leak
is very bad.The owners of this property either haven't addressed this
problem,or it hasn't been repaired correctly.
As I mentioned previously,there's also an enviromental concern with the
waste water,and sewerage from this
leak flowing into the storm drain,and subsequent water shed.Please look
into this as soon as possible.

The inspector,Michele Grant,confirmed your complaint.We spoke with a
couple the owners,they have someone coming Wed at LOAM to camera the line
to determine the corrective action.
The owner is aware that we expect an immediate repair to result from their
investigation as this has apparently gone on for some time.

would be done today/tomorrow. His next job is North Andover. We fixed the issue for the time being so right now
there are no problems.

Jeff, last Wednesday's communication,on April 13th,stated they were going down to get things started.According to
Tim, no one has spoken to him yet,and now you state the contractor has put off the conversation until Monday.
I suggest you have them speak with Tim about what they are going to do, before you go forward with this contractor.
Most importantly, please let us know when the permit is pulled and the date is set.

I spoke to Fred from Drains Unlimited. He is sending me the quote/proposal today/tomorrow. The plan is for him to go
to the Town on Monday to pull the permits and the work will begin.
Things are moving forward. This should be 100%cleared up by next week.

We were successful for cleaning up and fixing the problem today temporarily. Drains Unlimited came in,cleaned
everything up and unclogged the pipe. They then put a camera in and saw where the pipe was broken,about 30 feet
out in our yard. They went down to the Town to start the process of pulling permits etc. They're going to call me back
with an official quote and a date for excavation. They'll take the entire pipe out and replace it with PVC and that will
take care of the problem.

Tim,
Jeff and I spoke yesterday afternoon. He stated that his plumber Fred Wealty was not able to conduct the work on
Saturday as planned due to lack of having a camera available.
They are now scheduled for Wed.4/13 at 10 AM. After determining the location of the break,further decisions will be
made. I suggested that Jeff speak with you if he has any questions regarding recommendations or issues about working
in the street if needed.
I stressed'the importance of correcting this situation immediately due to its potential for the danger to public health.
The repair cannot be put off. Running a new pipe or doing a repair should not take more than half a day I would think.
It appears that there may also a sump pump assisting in this problem. Eliminating any connection between the sump
pump and the sewer system should also be done if found upon investigation.

Dear Ms. Sawyer,
Unfortunately this issue hasn't been resolved. With the warm weather here the stench from
this sewerage leak is very bad. The owners of this property either haven't addressed this
problem, or it hasn't been repaired correctly.
As I mentioned previously, there's also an enviromental concern with the waste water, and
sewerage from this leak flowing into the storm drain, and subsequent water shed. Please look
into this as soon as possible.

Mr Crescimano,
The inspector, Michele Grant, confirmed your complaint. We spoke with a couple the owners,
they have someone coming Wed at 10AM to camera the line to determine the corrective action.
The owner is aware that we expect an immediate repair to result from their investigation as
this has apparently gone on for some time.

Dear Ms. Sawyer,
For the past 2 weeks there has been a sewerage leak at the corner of Pleasant and Davis
street. I have been in contact with Tim Willett from the sewer dept. about this, and he
brought it to the attention of the owners of 133 Pleasant St. approx.
2 weeks ago. At that time the owners assured him that they would address the problem.
Unfortunately it's still unresolved. The issue from a health and environmental standpoint is
that a large amount of waste water is pouring from the leak directly into the storm drain.
This past weekend with the advent of the warm weather the stench has become unbearable. Tim
Willet mentioned to me this morning that he will log a formal complaint with your dept., and
that I should do the same. I trust that you will look into this promptly and enforce any
health codes that may pertain here.
