If your stove is lit indoors you may want to open some windows until the stove is cured. BURNING WOOD 1 . Open air intakes and manual damper to full opening. 2. Place crumpled up single sheets of newspaper in stove. About 4 full sheets is sufficient. 3 . Place kindling on top of paper and ignite paper. Do not use flamable liquids to start your fire. This is very dangerous . 4 . Close doors and allow kindling to ignite. ' 5 . When kindling is burning, add at least three logs, `7 putting in two side by side with a space between them and add the third log so it crosses over the first two. Remember "One log won' t burn, two logs burn poorly, three logs make a good fire. " 6 . Close doors. After the logs have begun to burn close manual damper about half way and adjust air intakes for the desired rate of burn. Fill stove with logs as desired.
