Grant, Health Inspector TYPE OF COMPLAINT: Housing/Mold Issues COMPLAINTANT NAME: John Darling ADDRESS: 15 Royal Crest Drive,Apt. 2, Lower Level PHONE: 978.685.0362 or cell: 978.902.0455 COMPLAINT AGAINST: Royal Crest ADDRESS: Same PHONE: Same COMPLAINT: Mr. Darling called to state that mold is covering all of his possessions/apartment, and he had a meeting with Royal Crest management yesterday (Patti) and he was told they (he and his fiance) could move to another lower level apt., or pay more to go to an upper level apartment. This is the only apartment in this building that has mold in it. Mold issue started in June, and has continued. Tenant has been renting here for a year and two months. He does not feel that he should have to pay more money to move just to avoid the mold issue. Maintenance has arrived and cleaned with each complaint to Royal Crest, and just tried painting over the bedroom ceiling last week; however there is already mold growing on it again. There is mold growing on bathroom door. Please setup a time to do an inspection of the property for housing violations. ACTION: Ms. Grant spoke with Mr. Darling on 8/1/06. Royal Crest appears to be doing all they can to try and help Mr. Darling. Mr. Darling's questions relate more to financial; i.e.; who should pay for cleaning, moving, etc. The questions are legal questions, not health questions.—pfd.
