Dear Mr. Sharon,
As you know there are still some unresolved problems at
French Farm. The one I am writing ..you today about is the
vacant lot next to our home, 6J_-1OA, Old Farm Road. 11
If you recall , just over a year ago a building permit was
issued for that lot. Once excavation started the permit was
revoked due to a sewer line that was unrecorded was found in
the area. To date the lot remains excavated and no dwelling
underway.
The building inspector has been very cooperative in keeping
me advised as to who has owned the lot and the requirements
he has put on the builder.
It was approximately a year ago you advised us that the hole
would be filled in by the town if the problem was not
resolved. This year, the building inspector advised us he
gave the builder until fall to start construction or fill in
the hole. To date the hole remains.
The purpose of this letter is to protect our home. We are
concerned that should the sewer pipe, which is close the
surface in that lot, now freeze, the sludge will back up and
the first outlet it would have is our house.
It is the intent of this letter to put the Town of North
Andover on notice of this hazardous condition.
Should our home be damaged from the above mentioned condition
or should the land to the right side of our home erode into
the pit, we will have no alternative but to hold the Town of
North Andover liable for all physical damages , additional
living expenses and attorney fees.
Thank you for your time.
