At that time., Mr. Surette inforiiled Mr. Devlin that a temporary post was not necessary and certainly the home should not be condemned. At that time, Mr. Devlin agreed to and accepted Mr. Surette's professional opinion. T would like to inform you of today's sequence of events. At 9:20 a.m. this morning, Mr. Devlin appeared at the North Andover Building Department it> j9iU that your home should be condemned and inxigxd for. a temporary post. By approximately 10:30 a.m.., we were finally allowed to enter your home. Present at this inspection. was Mr. Devlin, Mr, Suzette, Scott LePore, a Professional Framer, and Thomas .Hurley our Construction Supervisor. Mr. Devlin was informed infored by all of these professionals that there was only a minor problem and there was not a need for a temporary post. Regardless, Mr. Devlin believed there was a m,, jor problem and insisted a temporary post be installed. He insisted that the appearance had changed from Mi. Surette's first inspection. Well, not only does the Building Inspector recall that there has not been a change, our pictures taken then and now show that there was no change. However, and as a continued act of our gonU faith, a brace was installed along this paraiam which consisted of a 2x6 T -Brace with a plywood cap and a 2x1Ci Base, at our cost and was completed within an hour. Ann Marie, it has nearly been two months since Mr. David O'Sullivan prepared his Architect's Field Report in which we are willing to perform all the work he has recommended. Today's aggravations could have been prevented since the work, would have been done by now. I have already asked you to schedule a time in which we can have access to your home a countless number of times: verbally, in writing through your attorney and in writing to you via certified mail. The bottom of post is on solid structure below. An observation hole was cut in the floor and the post sits on 2x10's with the LVL beam below it. 3. The post at the bottom of stair has been. replaced with .nom. 4x6 paralam post, full height; 4. The connection at the top of the new post is nailed with a steel plates to ensure no movement. (see photo) 5. The post on. plans in wall behind bar area is not present. A new 4x4 post has been install next to the existing 2x4 for the full wall height. (accessed from living room side of wall, see photo.) 6. The drywall will be repaired and patched throughout the area of repairs. 7. All carpet and trim to be restored back to finished condition. Attic 1. Blocking has been added to side of existing joist to provide proper bearing for center roof beam. 2. The existing beams in attic have been tied together to prevent racking. Basement 1. I showed the owner the LVL beam in the basement ceiling that supports the post in the bar wall above. They were concerned that there was proper bearing for the added post. I would. like to inform you of today's sequence of events, At 9:20 a -m. this morning, Mr. Devlin appeared at the North .Andover Building Department in.jAing that your home should be condemned and insisjkd for a temporary post. By approximately 10:30 a.m., we were finally allowed to enter your home. Present at this inspection was Mr. Devlin, Mr. Suzette, Scott LePore, a Professional Frarner, and Thomas Hurley our Construction Supervisor. Mr. Devlin was informed by all of these professionals that there was only a minor problem and there was not a need for a temporary post. Regardless, Mr. Devlin believed there was a major problem and insisted a temporary post be installed. He insisted that the appearance had changed from Mr. Surette's first inspection. Well, not only does the Building Inspector recall that there has not been a change, our pictures taken then and now show that there was no change. However, and as a continued act of our good faith, a brace was installed along this paralanl which consisted of a 2x6 T -Brace with a plywood cap and a 2xf10 Base., at our cost and was completed within an hour, n Ann Marie, it has nearly been two months since Mr. David O'Sullivan prepared his Architect's Field Report .in which we are willing to perform all the work. he has recommended.
