Over the past year we (building and Health and Atty Gen. office) have received calls and communications from a neighbor. I am not sure if it is the one whom you spoke of. At last glance, this property is secure and has no health violations. It is a beautiful brick home as I recall. It has been vacant for a long time, that is true, but the bank is keeping it up to the minimum standards as needed. I expect that the building dept. looks at it as they drive around town and would follow up if they see any issues. Please see email below. I am copying Susan Sawyer on this email because I called her as you suggested since she is the Director of the North Andover Board of Health. Susan said she would be meeting with you next week about another piece of property in North Andover. The abandoned property at 2 Blueberry Hill in North Andover poses no health concerns at this time. My concern is that it be allowed to decay over time due to inertia by the Royal Bank of Scotland Citizens Bank. What is the situation? There is a lack of residential properties listed in North Andover and it would be a good time for the bank to list the property for sale. The only effort to sell it was when it was first foreclosed on but the market wasn't good. I think it's been empty for a least 4-5 years. Could you find out why it isn't for sale? The RBS Citizens in Monroe, Louisiana pays the property taxes so I assume they hold the mortgage. Any insight or assistance you can offer would be greatly appreciated. We currently only work with abandoned residential properties in the Commonwealth that are referred to us by municipal officials. North Andover would first have to contact our office to inquire about the program before we could examine the property. My recommendation would be 1 to contact your local Board of Health and Code Enforcement officials about the property and mention our program. We would be happy to meet with them if they are interested in our assistance. Across the street from my home is an abandoned house that has been empty for many years. The RBS Citizens Bank in Monroe, Louisiana has been paying the property tax but there hasn't been any efforts to sell the home. The neighborhood is a good one with many homes in the $500,000 bracket but this home is fast becoming an eyesore and a detriment to other home owners in the area. There is a shortage of homes for sale in North Andover and it seems like this would be a good time for the lenders to sell it. I would like to know the status of the foreclosure and any plans to resolve the issue. We are keeping our home in good shape but if this goes on for another 5 years we may not be able to sell our home due to the empty house's condition. The interior has been gutted due to water damage so now it will need a complete renovation. How much longer will this go on? Thank you for your consideration. I look forward to your reply. If I can be of any assistance in the process I would be happy to help. 2
