Enclose please find a copy of the original proposed site plan of your house, dated September 28, 1993. Please note this is not an `as -built' plan and is not considered accurate. In addition, I have included a copy of the `as -built' plan associated to #261 (Lot 24A) Bridges Lane, dated September 27, 1997. This plan depicts portions of a wetland resource area located on your property. However, due to the abundance of snow cover, I was not able to approximate the where the edge of the wetland is. As discussed, it is strongly recommended that you retain a Professional Wetland Scientist to delineate all jurisdictional wetland areas boundaries on your property: Please be aware any work proposed within 100 -feet of jurisdictional wetland resource areas must be preceded by a Request for Determination of Applicability (RDA) or Notice of Intent (NOI) filing (whichever is appropriate) before the North Andover Conservation Commission (NACC), per MA Wetlands Protection Act-M.G.L. c.131, §40 and the North Andover Wetlands Bylaw (C.178 of the Code of North Andover). Should you have any questions or comments regarding this letter or attached plans, please do not hesitate to contact the undersigned at your earliest convenience. N. Andover, MA 01845 RE: 247 Bridges Lane., N. Andover, MA - Wetland Delineation Report Ms. McGrath: The following is a report on the delineation of the wetland resource area on 247 Bridges Lane, N. Andover, MA done in May 6, 2005. The jurisdictional resource areas established in the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act that are relevant to this site are Bordering Vegetated Wetland, Buffer Zone and Bank. There is a small intermittent stream along the side (north) of the property. It f lows from a culvert under Bridges Lane. The associated Bordering vegetated wetland is very well defined by topography and vegetation. The stream had no flowing water at the time of the delineation., Furthermore, no stream is shown on the USGS map for this site, North Andover Quad, 1987. NO portion of the site is within an Estimated Habitat as designated by the Natural Heritage and Endangered Species Program, 2003 A wetland delineation is done by visual survey of topography, evidence of hydrology, and identification of plant species. A determination is made on each plant species as to their indicator status as referenced in the "National List of Plant Species that Occur in Wetlands", published by the Fish and Wildlife Service. The boundary of the wetland is then determined to be where 50% or more of the vegetation community consists of wetland indicator species with a status of FAC or wetter. Where there is a dominance of wetland plants species, evidence of hydrology is looked for, i.e. water stained leaves, drainage patterns, morphological adaptations, and hydric soils. Typically, hydric soils are determined by digging a pit 20" deep and observing the horizons for color and features. Determinations are made referencing "Field Indicators for Identifying Hydric Soils in New England" and color matched to the Munsell Soil Color Charts. The wetland delineation consists of 1 flogging series, #lA - #20A. The series defines the Bordering Vegetated Wetland. The area is very steep and well defined at the culvert then flattens out as is progresses to the east. Soils were used to determine the boundary. Soil observations were made throughout the wetland line, however the soil profiles were similar in each location for wetland soils and upland soils. The typical profile for each is as follows: Soil probes @ 8A (typ. upland) 0 <1" A 0-8" IOYR 2/2 B 8-18" 10YR 4/4 Soil probe @ 8A (txp. wetland) 0 <1„ A 0-8" 10YR 2/1 B 8-18" lOYR 4/3 many large distinct redox. features The area is moderately vegetated. The vegetative community along the wetland/upland boundary was similar for all areas and consists of the following dominant species: Wetland side (typ.) Basbanes, M.A. Wetland Consultant/Biologist The wetland resource areas were delineated in the keeping with the Massachusetts Wetland Protection Act and were done so to the best of our abilities. Considering all the variables (seasonal growth form of vegetation, soils conditions, topography, weather, etc.) involved in such an effort, please be advised that despite the best effort, no wetland delineation is considered definitive until verified and approved by the final issuing authority. .• \ r r r \ \ Ilk ,y • • I• •. { it i I t, •\ i`Tf . % ( `r Q `\\ \'\\\\\\ \'\ \ \\ \; \ QU 1 ;f ` '` i .'.M1 ,...✓•; . .mow.-.
