The proposed use is chemical labs with storage less than 10 feet in height, with flammable liquids maintained in a UL listed storage cabinet. The chemical lab is classified. as Ordinary Hazard Group 2 (OH2) per NFPA 13, A.5.3.2, non-combustible chemicals in plastic containers which would be a Class 2 commodity per NFPA 13, table A.5.6.3, and these commodities can be protected per OH2 per NFPA 13 Table 13.2.1. The current fire sprinkler system is designed to OH2 density requirements; the proposal is to maintain the existing fire protection systems as installed will sufficiently protect this hazard.
