Re: 25 Commerce Way / Zoning Reg. - article 14
Dear Mr. Nicetta,
Please recall our conversation on Friday, (4/16/04) regarding 25 Commerce Way in
North Andover. I represent Plastics Etc., Inc. of 165 Flagship Drive in North Andover.
We have outgrown our exiting space and want to relocate our business to 25 Commerce
Way here in North Andover. Our business is divided into two business segments, 1)
Light Manufacturing/Fabrication of plastic tanks and 2) sales of stored building materials
(plastic sheet, pipe, valves and fittings) which is sold the contracting industry.
Per our conversation I have enclosed a sketch of the building which notes the neighboring
tenants. Also enclosed, is the information you requested regarding the fabrication
process and its impact on the environment.
We understand that you, as a Building Commissioner, will be able to clarify our business
suitability for 25 Commerce Way. As we are close to executing a lease for this space we
would appreciate your prompt attention in reviewing this issue.
Please feel free to contact me via cellphone 978-360-5578 (I will be traveling most of
next week) if you have any questions.
Thank you for your prompt attention.

PLASTIC WELDING
101
A How To Guide
The following welding instructions are designed are designed for informational
purposes only: They are intended to the place of personalized instruction and proper
training.
Types of Plastic Welding
The two primary types of plastic materials that are used in welding are Polyethylene (PE)
and Polypropylene (PP) welding. These two types of plastics materials use a process of hot
air and nitrogen (an inert gas).
About Plastic Welding
Nearly any plastic material that can be softened or shaped with heat can be welded with hot
air welders. The hand-held welders make it possible for the users to weld plastics speedily
and economically after a few hours of study and practice. Whether fabricating
thermoplastic stock or repairing various types of plastic parts, hot air welding is usually
performed on plastics 1/16 of an inch or more in thickness. The bond achieved, depending
on the type of weld, is generally about as strong (90%) or more) as the original material.
Safety
Hot air welding is safe because there is no flame, spark, or smoke involved. No special
venting, hoods, or ducting are required.
Types of Welds
Basically the same types of welds are performed in hot air welding as in metal welding.
These consist of butt welding, fillet welds, lap joints, edge welds and corner welds. The
main difference is that plastic welding creates no flame arc or spark. No safety equipment
such as face shields, gloves, etc.
