Al McGregor informed both Health and Conservation that there is was NO HEALTH ISSUE at all. No Water on his property. Car Wash area is dry in the wet land. He just wanted us to know that there is Beaver activity. The water that he spoke of to Susan was during the flood. This was not cause by beaver. The flooding only occurred at that time. Again, Out of his mouth ... He has no water problems, He JUST wanted someone to know that there is Beaver Activity. He just needs a call back to have this explained to him as he seemed unclear and since I was not involved, didn't know what to tell him. Please call him at some point today. Thanks Alison -----Original Message ----- From: Merrill, Pamela Sent: Tuesday, January 02, 2007 10:31 AM To: McKay, Alison Cc: Sawyer, Susan; Grant, Michele Subject: RE: Al McGregor & Beaver Dam Michele & I have already met with Al McGregor approximately 1 month ago. This is the same beaver dam / area that the Woodlea residents took down and trapped the beaver. There are a new colony of beaver because the Woodlea residents only did the quick solution by killing them, rather than installing a beaver deceiver pipe for the long term solution. Surprisingly, we (Health and / or Conservation) have not received any other complaints from any of the abutting neighbors. We told Al that he would need to find out who owns that piece of land and then ask permission to do work on the property (breach, install pipe or trap beaver). I told Al that within the last 4 yrs the dam was breached with the necessary permits from the Conservation Dept. Michele told him that based on her observations that it wasn't an imminent health issue; therefore would not warrant an emergency permit from the Health Dept. I informed him of open trapping season; however, permits were required if the dam is breached. 4 r -----Original Message ----- From: McKay, Alison Sent: Tuesday, January 02, 2007 9:33 AM To: Merrill, Pamela Cc: Grant, Michele; Sawyer, Susan Subject: Al McGregor & Beaver Dam Hi Pam, Al McGregor called this morning. He thought I was the one who met with him onsite to discuss the Beavers on Mosquito Brook at Chestnut Street and the flooding they have caused on his property which he states is a threat to his septic system. He said that Ben Osgood, Sr. owns the property where the beavers are located. Could you or Michele call him back at 978-618-8809 to let him know how he should move ahead with the permitting since you've been out there. Thanks Alison E.
