RE: Tree Removal at 252 Chestnut Street, North Andover
Dear Ms. Jason,
n
At your request, I conducted an inspection to determine if the two (2) red maples along the rear of
your property could be removed. One of the red maples was obviously dead and was leaning
towards the neighbor's property. The other tree exhibited significant rot at the base of the tree.
These trees were noted to be in wetland area that borders onto the intermittent stream that traverses
through your property. In my opinion these two trees do pose as a safety hazard and can be
removed. Please be aware that heavy equipment is strictly prohibited in the Bordering Vegetated
Wetland (BEN). In addition, the stumps from these trees should be left in the ground for
stabilization purposes. When you are prepared to move forward with this project, please contact the
undersigned so that the Conservation Department is aware of your anticipated start date.
I trust this information is sufficient for your needs. Should you have any questions or comments
regarding this letter, please do not hesitate to contact the undersigned at your earliest convenience.
Respectfully,
