The proposed structure is intended for residential use (single family home). B. The soil conditions and topography will not be altered or affected by the proposed use. We are adding to the existing structure which should not impact these items. C. The existing structure is too small for our family. There currently is inadequate living space, only a single bathroom, and insufficient closet/storage space for the future. Our desire is to stay in the Town of North Andover due to strong ties in our community and school system. After evaluating the financial options available in the town, it was found to be more realistic to build on the existing site rather than financially strap our family in the future by attempting a move. D. Currently, the existing site is not consistent with the abutting homes. The existing site has a single floor/level home whereby neighboring homes have 2 levels and more style. Adding a second level/overhang and small side deck will not negatively impact the "look" of the community. In actually, it will provide a more pleasing and consistent appeal to abutting homes by creating more style than currently exists with the existing dwelling. E. The zoning bylaws are designed to preserve health, safety, community interest and prevent overcrowding. The proposed site will not negatively affect any of the bylaw intents. The goal is simply to provide adequate living space for a young family and improve quality of the neighborhood by updating the existing structure. F. An RDA is not required for the location of the proposed site/project. Almost all abutting homes have 2 floors so adding a second floor will not make the home inconsistent with the neighborhood. 3) There will be no nuisance or hazards to vehicles or pedestrians since we are not adding additional family units or parking requirements in the neighborhood. 4) The site currently has adequate and appropriate facilities for proper operation and constructing a 2nd floor addition will not hinder these facilities. 5) The use is to remain the same and is in harmony with the purpose and intent of the zoning bylaw. 6) Our intent for the proposed addition is to provide adequate growth (family living space) within our financial constraints.
