According to caller, they have had an ongoing infestation of mice for 6-7 months. Her daughter,Cassandra Dupont is on a ventilator and is awaiting a heart and lung transplant. Cassandra's social worker from Children's Hospital in Boston called first to advocate that something be done(Yudy Muneton-617-974- 1185). The family has had the doctors from Children's Hospital send letters to the property management office advocating for Cassandra.Today,Ms.Delisle noted that she saw a mouse come out from behind where she keeps her daughters'medical supplies. Ms.Delisle has worked with Tracy Watson, the property manager at this complex. Tracy does have maintenance respond for each request, and they set traps, but Ms.Delisle feels that she and Ms.Watson do not see"eye to eye"on remediating the issue. Ms.Delisle also stated that(we)are all townies who stick together and Ms.Watson is a Selectwoman,so Ms.Delisle does not feel like she has any recourse to go above her. However, she did state that she would get the state department of public health involved if the rodent problem is not fixed at its source. Most notably, she requires breathing support (i.e.,mechanical ventilations)through a tracheostomy, continuous monitoring, and extensive care. She is at a point where we arc referring for a Possible hesecond opinion regarding a art-.lung transplatlt. In our review,it appears that the current physical living space is very well appointed. It has come to our attention that the apartment has recently been identified as having an infestation of rodents. This is a significant problem with respect to infection control., equipment safety, and emotional distress. We would request that pest abatement and replacement of any soiled soft furniture be replaced. Given the severity of Ms.Dupont's lung disease rodent born pathogens or exposure could exacerbate lung disease and hasten death. Her family.has limited financial resources(i.e.,please do not terminate services). They have adapted to increased demands of care despite the complex needs and we would like to emphasize the safety concerns if the environment is not optimal, 1, along with Cassie and her family, would appreciate any efforts to support them,in their care efforts. It is in Lassie's best interest, for both short and long-term health and comfort,to anticipate problems, Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
