To more specifically answer your question in regards to emergency back up plan. In the event of power loss, each treatment room has a large flashlight. We would end any procedure and close wounds as needed under the spot of a flashlight. OIf a patient was being monitored with noninvasive blood pressure, ECG and pulse oximetry each of these have a battery backup. Also, we have an automated electronic defibrillator,which has it own battery in the event of cardiac arrest. Suction is provided with a system run by an oxygen tank flow.
