Philbin, Trustee Township Realty Trust 46 Clark Road Andover, MA 01810 Dear Jay: 1 `T ✓ ;✓ ./'. __6 .rte U J L/ r s v Inclosed find rent check for the month of March, 1978. e'c- /--- I am writing this letter so as to establish a written record of anv problem that may exist as regards the foundation of the home I currently rent from you at 669 Waverly Road, North Andover. It has been impossible to maintain my office in the basement of this house for the past two (2) months. The foundation facing the street let considerable water into the basement completely flooding my office, rug, etc. This condition necessitated removing portions of the paneling to allow North Andover Water Department personnel the space to apply materials to stop the flow of water. The results were obvious to the extent that the faucet -like flow has been stopped temporarily. There is now a showing of water apparently accumulating outside. My understanding from persons knowledgable in this area is that the foundation must be repaired from the outside as well as inside. Early in February, just a few days prior to the Great Blizzard, yoL.: foreman telephoned in the evening to inform me that I was becoming troublesome because of the matters recited above. I was further informed that he would break the door down sometime the following day and seal the basement, etc. Make no mistake, Jay, with regard to breaking any of the"Landlord=Tenant Laws'.' of the Commonwealth either criminal or civil. There is much law with regards to the quiet enjoyment of rented premises. My rent is paid promptly each month and I would request that you comply with the law as regards your obligations to a tenant.
