Our Sanitarian has had two conferences with i-ir. & i?rs. Bohnwagmer,
and has regp ested them to submit a plan for approval
shoving the changes and corrections in their sub -surface disposal
system and their well. To date, the plans have not Leen receivt.d.
H owever, in vier) of the potential health hazards presently
existing, t e Board of Health do not approve this h=aLas a
fit place to board children, in fact it is a great concern
to per,:iit habitation in the house.
:irs. Bohnuagner stated that she will correct the situation
in September, but the Board feel that it should be dona
i .mediately.

Gentlemen:
Mrs. Mary Bohnwagner has applied for a license to board children
privately. As there are five children in her home, two of one
family and three of another, at the present time we are concerned
in view of the fact that the water analysis from the Department
of Public Health shows the well and sewerage are in poor condition.
We understand that your office has had contact with this family
on the above mattere May we have your evaluation of the situation.
Very truly yours,

purposes at the time the samples were collected.
More detailed information in this regard will be
sent you at a later date by the Commissioner of Public Health

On 2/23/90 I visited this site with the current owners and
prospective buyers to evaluate the existing Septic System and
discuss the feasibility of repairs if it fails after the house is sold.
At that time I saw no evidence of failure of the existing system,
but the possibility of failure should always be considered. There are
two alternatives for future repairs here, connection to a private
sewer that runs through a seperately owned lot behind the house or a
new Septic System. Since this Lot has plenty of room and is level enough,
a Septic System could easily be installed on the north side of the lot
if it proves necessary in the future. There is some confusion as to
whether section 15.02 (12) of the State code of subsurface sewage disposal
applies to this lot; wherein Septic Systems"shall not be approved where
a common sanitary sewer is accessible adjoining the property and where
permission to enter such a sewer can be obtained from the authority having
jurisdiction avorit'.' My interpretation has always been that a privately
constructed sewer is not "common" and in the past we have not been able
to require entry to private sewers.
I would construe this to mean that a Septic System could be constructed
here if it becomes necessary.
In parting, I would like to add that there is currently no garbage
grinder in use here and you should not install one unless you were
hooking up to a public sewer.
Sincerely
