August 20, 1984 Mr. Daniel Long, Town Clerk George & Susan Chory Town Office Building 81 Bradford Street North Andover, Mass. Petition No. 42-'84 Dear Mr. Long: The Board of.Appeals held a public hearing on Monday evening, August 13, 1984 upon the application of George and Susan Chory. The hearing was advertised in the North Andover Citizen on July 26 and August 2, 1984 and all abutters were notified by regular mail. The following members were present and voting: Frank Serio, Jr., Chairman; Alfred E. Frizelle, Esq..,-.Vice,Chairman; Richard J. Trepanier, Esq., Clerk; William J. Sullivan; and Augustine W. Nickerson. The petitioners seek a variance from the provisions of Section 7, Paragraph 7.3 and Table 2 of the Zoning By Law so as to permit relief from the side yard setback'requirement to allow the con- struction of an addition to an existing garage on premises lo- cated at 81 Bradford Street in the R-2 zoning district. Mr. Chory testified that the additional stall is needed and that the area adjacent to the 'proposed addition is buffered by woods. The. closest dwelling is several .feet away. In granting the variance, the Board finds that Section 10.4 of the Zoning By.Law has been satisfied. In particular, the Board finds that a literal enforcement of the provisions of the Zoning By Law would create a hardship to the petitioner and that desirable relief may be granted without nullifying or substantially derogating from the intent and purpose of the Zoning By Law.
