Dear Mr. Lone:
The Board of Appeals held a public .hearing on. Monday evening,
Ilovem'_)er 19., 1984 upon the apl�ication of Joyce. Cooper. The
hearing was advertised in the Nor,,th,Ando,ver. Citizen on November 1
and 8, 1984 and all abutters were notified b} regular. mail. The
following members were present and voting: Frank Serio, Jr.,
hairman; !�?illiam J. Sullivan; Augustine W. Nickerson; and
Associate Members t.,]alter F. Soule and Maurice S. Foulds.
The petitioner seeks a variance from the,prov-4sions of Section 7,
Paragraph 7.3 and Table 2, of the Zoning. By. Law so as. to permit
relief f roni the setback requirement to allow the construction of
an ac clition to a garage which will be clos, - *o the lot line than
is allowed on premises located at 844 Salem street in ,the R-2
zoning district.
Ms. Joyce Cooper testified ,that denial of the variance would
require her to construct a new driveway and therefore create a
financial hardship for her. In addition, the proposed location is
the most accessible to the dwelling.
vo opposition was voiced at the hearing.,
Upon a motion made by Mr. Foulds and seconded by Mr. Nickerson,
the Board voted unanimously to grant the variance as requested.

In granting the variance, the, Board finds..tha:t Section 10.4 of the
Zoning By Law has been satisfied. In particular, the Board finds
that due to the shape of the lot and the fact that the garage and
driveway exist and this petition represents a request for an
addition to said garage, said relief .'may be granted without
nullifying or substantial.l;1 derogating from the intent and purpose
of the Zoning By, Law. Denial_ of the variance; in the opinion of
the Board, would create a financial. hardship t a the petitioner.
