Hi Susan...
Sorry we've been without computers...
Just came back now!
Danielle is still here ... the issue is the neighbor who is not complying with our requests. However that is slowly changing
now since I had out attorney send her notice. We've treated again and will be re inspecting this week as well as another
treatment if needed. I feel so bad for her because she has been cooperative and has done everything we asked of her—
the other one not so much!
We're hoping this week's inspection shows no signs however I will update once we check again — which I think will be
Thursday!
Thank you and hope Ghoul School can go off another day or is it over for this year?
Thanks,
Tracy

Hi Tracy,
I keep forgetting to check up on this.
The occupant actually came in about 2 weeks ago and spilled out her concerns to me.
She stayed calm. Said nothing but good things about you but was so upset she still had Bedbugs, as she wants to move
but is afraid to take them with her. A reasonable concern.
She showed me a photo of her child with a rash and bites and a bag of bugs she had in the freezer.
I told her I would keep in touch with you on the progress. Can you tell me if she is still at Woodridge or has she moved
on?
Hope you have a good weekend. The Rotary Ghoul School is on Sunday at the High School. I hope we don't get snowed
out .... can not believe I had to say that!

3rd email, below is a copy of email to Tracy Watson of Woodridge Homes:
9/22/2011
Tracy, It's Danielle from 9 Emerson. I am writing to you via FB instead of calling you, because I don't
want to lose my cool .... I figured writing would be better. I am extremely frustrated! Again, I have found
3 bed bugs and I was just sprayed last week. It is repetitios.... they come spray, I don't see a bug for a
week, they come spray, I don't see a bug for a week ... etc..that is how it's been. I have been sprayed 5
times. Once in Feb and now 4 times since the beginning of August. The pest control guys say I don't
have anhuge infestation, just mild .... they always just see a few at a time, never a nest or cluster.
When I told Mike from the pest control how they are gone then a week later are back again and
again ... he seemed to think that sounded like they are coming through cracks in the walls from another
unit. I know I have said, I am losing sleep over this. I am stressed to the max and freaked out.
have never experienced this in my life ..... and never while living in Woodridge for over 10 years.
There has got to be a solution, instead of spraying every week or two ... it's getting ridiculous .... I have
done all that is needed, bagging up and washing/drying all fabrics, ridding of clutter etc .... why is this
problem not eliminated? I understand the bugs are hard to get rid of, but when I only see one or two
here and there, I would think after spraying 5 times they would be gone. Just when I think they are, I
see one. Hunter continues to have bites and it really bothers him. I have not let anyone in my house
in months, I don't want them spreading. I can't even move out of here, because if I still have them,
will just bring them with me wherever I go. Is anyone investigating the apartment 10 or 11? I know
that the Milas' are very dirty, have lots of clutter and hoard. As for Tammy Cookinham, I am not sure if
she has them. If apartments attached to mine aren't treated, this will never end.
When I speak to Rick or the Pest control guy about this or anyone else for that matter ..... I feel it is not
taken seriously. I know you have done your part by having them come and spray, but it doesn't seem
to be an end in sight ..... can you understand my frustration? I mean truly Tracy, this is out of control.
don't know about anyone else, but this is very bothersome to me! When I emailed Barkan, my
intentions were only good, to have this eradicated and taken to the extreme ... but still, nothing has
changed. As a tenant I have rights to a livable environment and to me, this is not livable. Losing sleep
and stress is not healthy!
Also, my couch, bed, mattress, boxspring and Hunter's entire bedroom set are all brand new in the
past year, I cannot afford to get rid of everything and buy new again. I did get rid of my year old
boxspring and bought a brand new one a couple weeks ago....

Subject: Bed Bugs
This is my second email about my bed bug problem, below you will see my original email, which I
never got a response.
The pest control have sprayed 4-5 times and I am still finding bed bugs.
My son also keeps getting bitten. ( I have kept several of the bugs in a sealed plastic bag, for proof)
It seems that when they spray, I don't see bugs for a week, then after, I do.
This is getting ridiculous! ...and my infestation is very mild.
I want something done about this! I have lived here for over 10 years, always pay my rent and never
have had a bug problem.
I am disgusted, distressed and not sleeping well at all. This is taking a toll on me.
have also emailed the Health Board, Secretary of State and the EPA.
have taken every step as told ... bagging up clothes, washing/drying in high heat, vacuuming every
crevice of my house ... and my house is clutter -free. The IPM approach has been done on my
part .... maybe they need a different pest control company.
Please Help Me!!!

I am a tenant at Woodridge Homes, North Andover, 9 Emerson Court.
I have had Andover Pest Control spray for bed bugs 3 times, I have
bought new matresses and boxbrings and still am having a bug problem.
This is VERY difficult to handle. I am losing sleep and am extremely
stressed.
am aware that many other tenants are having the same problem. Are
they traveling from unit to unit? ..... and no end in sight?
cannot afford new mattresses, boxsprings and a couch again.
What can you do to help me?
The manager, Tracy Watson has been very understanding and accomodating
in regards to having the pest company come and spray when needed .... but,
still the bugs are showing up.
Thank you,

Good Morning!
I just wanted to touch base on the bed bug issue in 9 Emerson. I received her email this morning... weird because the
resident has not even called here to complain but I did follow up with her this morning however she has not yet called
me back.
As a note of information her unit has not been treated 4 — 5 times — it has been treated 3 times but it can take up to 4 or
5 times. Her last treatment was last week at which time we also checked her neighbor's unit again. We did find bed
bugs in the neighbor's unit as well and treated that unit at the same time.. Both units are scheduled for a follow up
inspection next Wednesday 9/14 as Monday is the 14 day mark and you cannot treat more than once in a 14 day
period.
The issue seems to lie in the lack of patience in the process.... understandable I suppose as bed bugs cause stress to all
involved. She has seemed to cooperate with her end of what needs to be done but we are never quite sure because we
are not there when they resident washes & dries all belongings, etc ... however I will follow up on that as well when I
speak with her.
Just wanted to keep you in the loop since she sent another email.
I'll update as we progress as well.
Thanks!

Hi Tracy,
I just wanted to let you know that I spoke with your maintenance supervisor, Rick, today in regards to the bedbug issue
at Emerson Court. I had received an email asking for our assistance, not an actual complaint, from Danielle in #9. She
also cc'd me on the letter regarding this issue she had sent. This is just a follow up as I told her I would contact your
office.
Just to let you know, the bedbug issue has been cropping up in many other units around town this summer. Michele has
been going to, trainings and is what I would call, "our bedbug expert". It sounds as if Rick is yours. Michele is always
available to give her opinion or share ideas on responses that have been successful.
Rick described Andover Pest Control's protocol and what has already occurred at Emerson Court. Treating adjacent units
is a definite. That usually includes any above or below as well depending on the building. I understand Andover Pest use
primarily pesticides rather than other treatments such as high heating the units.
As you know, so much of the work is put directly on the residents or the treatments will just not work. We understand
their frustration. It seems like you have a sound protocol for residents to follow when bedbugs are found from what Rick
described, but if you need our assistance please give us a call. We'd be glad to work with you so your residents feel
comfortable, and also help you where we can.
Thank you

Hi Susan! Thanks so much for your help! We too unfortunately have become somewhat pros at this too. I
appreciate your help and understanding. The issue often lies with little patience from affected residents. They
want the quick fix and sometimes that doesn't happen. I will keep you updated though! Thanks again and have a
wonderful weekend! Tracy
