The North Andover Board of Appeals held a public hearing at the Senior Center, 120R Main Street, North
Andover, MA on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at 7:30 PM on the application of Kevin and Jennifer Fluth
located at 93 Cricket Lane (Map 107A, Parcel 285), North Andover, MA 01845. Petitioner is
requesting a Special permit from 4.122.22 of the Zoning bylaw to build a Family Suite in an R-2 Zoning
District.
Legal notices were sent to all the certified abutters provided by the Town of North Andover, Assessors
Office, and were published in the Eagle -Tribune, a newspaper of general circulation in the Town of North
Andover, on June 7th and June 14`h 2011.
The following voting members were present: Albert P. Manzi III, Ellen P. McIntyre, and Richard J.
Byers. The following Associate members were present: Thomas Ippolito and Michael Liporto
The Chairman, Albert P. Manzi III recused himself from the vote and deliberation.
Upon a motion by Byers and 2nd by Ippolito to GRANT the Special Permit to allow from 4.122.22 of
the Zoning bylaw to build a Family Suite in an R-2 Zoning District.
The following members voted in favor to GRANT a Special Permit: Ellen P. McIntyre, Richard J.
Byers, Thomas Ippolito and Michael Liporto.
The petition was unanimously approved, 4-0.
The Board finds that this use, as developed by the building & site plans, will not adversely affect the
neighborhood. There will be no nuisance or serious hazard to vehicles or pedestrians since there is
provision for the required off-street parking. Adequate and appropriate facilities are provided to the
existing residential dwelling and will be provided for the proper operation of a Family Suite. The Board
finds that the Family Suite will not be substantially more detrimental than the existing single-family
dwelling to the neighborhood and that this use of a Family Suite addition to a single family dwelling, is in
harmony with the general purpose and intent of this Bylaw

The North Andover Board of Appeals held a public hearing at the Senior Center, 120R Main Street, North
Andover, MA on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at 7:30 PM on the application of Kevin and Jennifer Fluth
located at 93 Cricket Lane (Map 107A, Parcel 285), North Andover, MA 01845. Petitioner is
requesting a Special permit from 4.122.22 of the Zoning bylaw to build a Family Suite in an R-2 Zoning
District.
Legal notices were sent to all the certified abutters provided by the Town of North Andover, Assessors
Office, and were published in the Eagle -Tribune, a newspaper of general circulation in the Town of North
Andover, on June 7h and June 14"' 2011.
The following voting members were present: Albert P. Manzi II1, Ellen P. McIntyre, and Richard J.
Byers. The following Associate members were present: Thomas Ippolito and Michael Liporto
The Chairman, Albert P. Manzi III recused himself from the vote and deliberation.
Upon a motion by Byers and 2nd by Ippolito to GRANT the Special Permit to allow from 4.122.22 of
the Zoning bylaw to build a Family Suite in an R-2 Zoning District.
The following members voted in favor to GRANT a Special Permit: Ellen P. McIntyre, Richard J.
Byers, Thomas Ippolito and Michael Liporto.
The petition was unanimously approved, 4-0.
The Board finds that this use, as developed by the building & site plans, will not adversely affect the
neighborhood. There will be no nuisance or serious hazard to vehicles or pedestrians since there is
provision for the required off-street parking. Adequate and appropriate facilities are provided to the
existing residential dwelling and will be provided for the proper operation of a Family Suite. The Board
finds that the Family Suite will not be substantially more detrimental than the existing single-family
dwelling to the neighborhood and that this use of a Family Suite addition to a single family dwelling, is in
harmony with the general purpose and intent of this Bylaw

Members of the Board,
We are writing in support of the petition by our son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and
Jennifer Fluth of 93 Cricket Lane, requesting a Special Permit for a `Family Suite' in
their home.
Minnesota has been our long-time residence, but we have no children living nearby.
Now in our upper 70s, and with some health concerns, we definitely feel the need to be
close to one of our children and to make a move while we are still able to enjoy normal
mobility.
Kevin and Jennifer had us in mind when they purchased their lovely home on Cricket
Lane. in fact, before they bought it they showed it to us - and pointed out the
potential for a living space that would meet our future needs, should we opt to accept
their invitation.
We have visited North Andover many times, and have often admired your very lovely
town. We love the tree -lined roads, beautiful parks, churches, and friendly
neighborhoods. It would be our privilege to become residents - not just visitors.
The Board may be assured that this is not a request to approve a rental unit, as we will
not be paying rent. We are only humbly requesting your approval of a special permit
to allow this `family suite' to be completed.
