Complaining about Fumes
—from joint compounds and adhesives that were used to do repairs in the unit.
Tenant requested the MSDS sheets, said it was so bad they stayed in a hotel and said she was going to call the Health
Dept.
Dena Stated they did comply, the MSDS sheets are available to her. These are common materials used in Royal crest.
They are not disputing that these things could smell, but they are non-toxic compounds according to her.
Thx

Date: 9-5-2008
Date 9-2-08
The Health Department received a phone call from Diaggo, the son-in-law of
Amanda Jimanez wanting to file a complaint. We asked Diaggo to have his
mother-in-law contact us. 9-3-08 Amanda came down to sign the complaint
form.
Mark Johnson of Royal Crest Estates contacts the health department to let us
know they have an apartment in which .a mold complaint has been filled out.
They have put Amanda in a hotel. She is leaving for a vacation at the end of
the week until the 16th of September. Royal Crest has hired Air Duct Services
out of Dedham to come in on Friday to inspect the apartment. Royal Crest has
requested access to remove and clean all clothing, furniture etc.
The tenant denies Royal Crest access.
9-5-08
The health dept. goes in for an inspection. Finds minimal mold. Royal Crest
has set-up another appointment with Air Duct for the following week. Upon
entering the apartment there are multiple signs indicating that no work is to
be preformed. The Health Department finds minimal mold. Royal Crest will
go forward with services when the tenant returns. The Health Department
agrees with how Mark Johnson would like to proceed. The Health
Department will not be writing an order letter to Royal Crest. Royal Crest
appears to moving to correct the problems appropriately.
If the tenant does not allow Royal Crest access to inspect and correct this
problem, the Health Department will be pressed to Order the tenant to allow
the Property Management access to correct the problems. There are
surrounding tenants that could be affected by this problem.
